Another Black and Gold Adidas kit:

And a white and gold, with sash:

I know these are older templates but interesting to see the gold decal.

I quite like the Swansea/Real Madrid kits.

That white/gold is the worst football 'kit' I've ever seen.

The current Swansea kit is white and gold so maybe our away will just be a black version of that? Plus it also looks like it has seams that go all the way down on each side, curving round to the front.

Adidas only use their templates for one season - the difference in that one to the new ones is the seam near the shoulder, which is also present on the current Stoke kit. So no, we won't have that in black, we'll have something that looks a lot like that in black but with the seams in different places. :D

Also, that black/gold Real Madrid shirt you posted is 3 years old. What's the point ?

Didn't we have gold shirts as our away colours back in the day, as gold and black were the hampshire regiments colours. If looking like that more likely to be gold with black trim.

I'd love amber and black, but I think black with gold is more likely, probably with a gold badge.

Worryingly for me, that was the first thing I thought of when I saw the statement. :(

Didn't they start using the silver logo on the OS around this time last year? That didn't end up on the kit - it was more of a template for our 'corporate marketing' colour for the next season.

Yup, but no-one claimed that was the away kit colour last year. Also, gold is one of the 5 Prem kit numbers.

I also noticed that, but then I suppose NC now believes he has an even clearer mandate to change anything and everything at a whim.

Look forward to a completely crap, or non-Saints style kit again this year

See previous page. :(

Black/gold away kit is nice, and if the home kit was striped it would be about 6 zillion times better, no matter what kind of stripes. But, there we go.

Wouldn't be surprised if the away kit still had the ugly white surround for the aap3 logo though...

Dan, you'll be pleased to know your kits are now doing the rounds on twitter again, one of my mates has just sent me a link to them through Facebook.

Will be good to see how far the rumour about the black/silver away kit can get, though equally we've only got Tom28 saying it's black/gold at the moment and I for one have taken it as gospel for no apparent reason ! :)

The black and gold is nice actually but reminds me of a recent liverpool one so i'd be happier with the silver.

To be honest as long one of the kits has red and white stripes and looks ok I wont grumble too much. Could even have a red and white third kit just for the "lolz" ;)

Umm...

The trouble with "gold" shirts, is that whilst the intention is for it to appear gold, for everything this represents, the colours produced tend to look a range of beige, dull metallic yellow, sand (as this does),drab chicken korma, or even a diarrhoea shade of dog sh!t.

Which will it be ?

I live in fear of what unSaints-like kit we might have to endure next season.

Having spent over 40years following them, I'd love to see Saints, in our Red&White stripes, or a Keeganesque style kit, tear the Premiership apart, or just continuing to progress, rather than watching us take the field in a L/pool, or Forest retro shirt.

A small matter perhaps, possibly even trifling, but a lot of time, energy and money has gone into the last 40 years.

its not just the kit. just look at the majority of your posts lately, Cynical would be the best word to describe them.

scathing would not be out of place.

did you have a problem with the kits in the decade that was the 80s?

A fair point - perhaps becoming a miserable old bastard !!! Please don't allow that to spoil it for you.

1980's kits - the only one that left me cold was the 1985, 'Steve Zodiac' as someone called it with white shoulders. As my mate pointed out at the time, looks too much like a Manchester Utd kit for us.

The only one that couldn't in any way be described as stripes then. What a coincidence ! ;)

Looks like it will be Adidas then. Happy with that.

The mock ups done earlier with the red & the black/silver look very good

With the exception of the complete lack of stripes on the home kit, you mean ? Black silver isn't based on anything though, and only one person has "confirmed" black/gold.

There are barely any stripes on the home shirt this season but it has grown on people, me included as I hated it when it was released.

The black/silver would tie in with the logo they have been using on the official site for a while.

I was hoping for something like this:

That's basically Sunderland's shirt from this year with our badge on it.

That's the problem with stripes. Somehow we've got to make them look unique/different from the likes of Stoke, Sunderland
