Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 17 December, 2012 Share Posted 17 December, 2012 Looking for new 3 wood and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations. Was looking at the R11S, does anyone have one of these? What do you think? I'm a midhandicapper, solid striker.

The Kraken Posted 17 December, 2012 Share Posted 17 December, 2012 The advice I'd give is the same for any golfer with any set of clubs; try a few out, take them on to the driving range (and if possible out on to the course) and go for the one that feels right for you. There is no one club that is thr right one for everyone; it comes down to personal choice.
Huffton Posted 17 December, 2012 Share Posted 17 December, 2012 If you like TM's go for the RBZ, just look at how many pro's play them over the R11s

I've tried out the R11, one of my golfing partners has one, and I will try out the R11S, just don't know if there is much of a difference between them. Saint Garrett Posted 18 December, 2012 Share Posted 18 December, 2012 I have the R11S driver. I used to work for Taylor made...(left about 2 weeks ago) and I'd say the RBZ range is better than the R11S. I'm pretty sure TM are bringing out a new range to go with the Rocketbladez irons which have recently been released maybe around Feb, although I never found out a specific date. Best bet though is to go and test some out and find one which suits you, however I would definitely recommend the TM ranges, as they are superb. (I wish I'd stocked up on clubs before I'd left!) Gruffalo Posted 18 December, 2012 Share Posted 18 December, 2012 All golf clubs are very personal, so try and try and try before you buy.. But, if I had to single out one club to demo, it would have to be the RBZ range - very good kit..

Saint Garrett Posted 19 December, 2012 Share Posted 19 December, 2012 Another important thing to consider is the shaft. Make sure you get the right shaft for you, as it will affect your game no end.
Saints boy in Leeds Posted 6 January, 2013 Share Posted 6 January, 2013 Looking for new 3 wood and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations. Was looking at the R11S, does anyone have one of these? What do you think? I'm a midhandicapper, solid striker. Go to your local pro and get custom fit, all depends on your type of swing, speed ect and he will advise on shaft type and make / model ect. I had reg shafts in all my woods until I started having lessons and my swing speed is 110 with woods so I need and x stuff. For gods sake spend some time hitting clubs, its all about feel, don't look into it via mates or Internet, your clubs need to suit your swing. As a mid handicapper I have been using TM Burner Driver and woods for last couple of years, go well for me. Interestingly I have found using different balls having a really marked difference to my game this year.

I do that with my running shoes. Go to the specialist shop, try them all on, make an excuse and order them online for 60% of the price. Stingy bastard me ???? dubai_phil Posted 6 January, 2013 Share Posted 6 January, 2013 So you went to the local pro shop, tested out their stock, and then plan to order online? Nice. As a mid handicapper I have been using TM Burner Driver and woods for last couple of years, go well for me. Interestingly I have found using different balls having a really marked difference to my game this year. I played today. I felt chilled before I even got to the range. I just felt that I simply needed to walk up to the ball and hit it. I had one minor tech flaw with my 1st 3 drives - splattering them away to the right (slice) adjusted my weight so it was slightly more on the front foot..... And then out drove the rest of the lads all afternoon - 1 had the new TaylorMade & one had an RBZ. I was blasting my 8 year old Calloway square head thingy 260-270 straight down the middle with a perfect shape on it. After the 1st 3 holes I only missed 1 fairway. It ain't JUST about the kit, it's about NOT thinking what to do with it Oh and yeah was using Titleist Pro V1 X refinished balls (15 quid a box at the moment) Now, IF ONLY I could chip from 50 yards reliably I'd have walked the tournie, ho hum
