I personally think we missed a trick with Michu, I know we were in for him but our interest cooled apparantly and this was after J Rod signed so it wasnt that, I wonder if there is legs in the stories of seeing Rickie go, I did hear strong rumours not to hedge my bets that he would stay, nothing concrete though.

 

As for Michu, 2.2m would havegot us a younger, quicker and more technical version of Rickie IMO, he would have slotted straight into our system. Dont get me wrong, Im not asking for Rickie to leave, he has been prolific for us, but a situation that saw us get Michu AND still be 3-4m net in the black would have softened the blow.

.and you may be correct, but hindsight is wonderful isn't it ? but there is a lot of difference between players that we may say we like (on a thread) and those we ...didn't bid for / didn't want / missed altogether......... so let's move on and not dwell on such things.

My mate thinks Lambert is Teddy a Sherringham type player and could go another 4 years and I thought yeah, you know you're right! Lamberts worth more to us than to anyone else.

Well they were ready to accept £4m for him from Brighton back in the summer so I think they value him a lot less than a lot of you think

 

I have a good mate who is a Brighton fan and the last time LWS mentioned this I set him the task of seeing whether there was any rumour his end. With very little digging at all he found a few people whose stories were very similar. It may just be unsubstantiated rumour, it may be true but to me it seems to make sense.
