Predictions for the next 5 league games

Following on from the previous '5 game prediction' thread...

Sunderland (h) 3 - low on confidence and there for the taking at the moment.

Fulham (a) 1 - hoping that the QPR result is the start of a little dip for Fulham which we can exploit.

Stoke (a) 1 - don't let in many but don't score many, ugly low scoring draw.

Arsenal (h) 0 - even in a rough spell still think they'll get past us.

Villa (a) 1 - with chelsea(a) as their next game fingers crossed their little spurt fizzles out ASAP.

So 6 points is my 'par for the course' prediction.

Anyone else care to take a look into the crystal ball?

Really need to beat Sunderland. Failing to win that will be worrying.

Fulham are decent at home so would take a point there.

Stoke is a nailed on 1 or 2-0 defeat.

Arsenal is probably our best chance of beating one of the big clubs this season (we'll need to cause an upset or two if we're going to stay up) but still can't see us winning that.

Villa seem to be improving but still don't think they're that great. Draw.

Grand total of 5 points I reckon.

I think we'll do alright, can see 5/6/7 points in those fixtures.

We're a different team now than the team who went to West Ham, or Arsenal. We've grown up in the last 6 weeks and it's showing in our results and performances.

I may be completely overconfident, but look at where Norwich are - they got themselves on a decent run and never looked back. If we beat Sunderland at the weekend could we experience a similar run?

It's just amazing that just over 6 weeks ago Norwich were our rivals, they were locked in there with us looking awful. Now they're 7th on 26 points. Astonishing. You still can't say they're safe though, as Blackpool had 26 points at this stage a couple of years back...but it's still given them a huge chance.

I don't think Norwich have any world beaters in their team, they just do the basics well and work hard as a TEAM. If we can get that side of our game right, which we have been doing in recent weeks, then our quality will also come through.

We'll miss Lallana massively, but it's an opportunity for certain individuals to stake a claim.

Sunderland - 3

Fulham - 3

Stoke - 1

Arsenal - 1.......Sneaky feeling we might even win this one.

Villa - 1

Good run into a solid mid table position.

Feel some of the drawn games could have gone our way too.

Mighty Saints on the move..

We will even beat Chelsea 2-0 in the FA cup.

COYS

WIFM

Damn, I really envy you being so close to Scrumpy country sometimes.

Think we'll beat Sunderland.

Fulham will be close, could go either way, but imagine we'll have quite a few fans up there and decent opportunity to cause them problems.

Stoke, I can't see us getting anything out of that.

Arsenal.....completely depends what Arsenal side turns up. If it's the Arsenal that we played then I think they'll beat us, if it's the Arsenal who played at Bradford and has been playing recently I think its a really good opportunity to beat them.

Villa. Same as Fulham I think. Opportunity to get a win as they're pretty poor, but on a bit of a high at the moment after the last few weeks but that might all change by the time we play them.

5 or 6 points I reckon.

Mackams 3

Cottagers 0

Thugs 0

Arsene's boys 3

Villa 3

I think we'll get 9 points, we might have to swap an Arsenal or a Villa for a Fulham or a Stoke but we can definitely win 3 of these 5 games. Much improved over the last few games, back 4 now looks like a unit, conceded 4 in last 6, still creating plenty of chances. We'll be relatively fresh for the Xmas slog-fest. Why not?

10, beat Sunderland, beat Fulham, beat Villa, draw at Stoke, loose to Arsenal.

Though Arsenal seem in all sorts of problems so could beat them, Villa seem to have finally started to make a go of it so its harder to call, Fulham are still naff, Sunderland are a joke and Stoke if we play our game properly we can take something from them...

Sunderland 1

Fulham 0

Stoke 0

Arsenal 1

Villa 0

Sad thing is that we should be looking to get something from each of those games but because our away form/performances have been dire and ingrained this will not happen.

I think our away form will pick up now. We are getting it together.

Sunderland (h) 3

Fulham (a) 0

Stoke (a) 0

Arsenal (h) 3 - feel it in my bones, we will do them! (I hope!)

Villa (a) 1 - hardest one to call for me, we could win but then so could they - this one is about who lady luck favours on the day in my view

5 points from that lot. I also estimate we'll finish on 38. Is that enough? Hmm, we'll see.

I don't think 38 will do it TBH. Even 40 is going to be touch and go this season.

Looking around us even the worst team at the moment, Reading, are capable of a good run in the 2nd half of the season.

The rest of the teams in the bottom 7/8 are really close and I think we'll all be scrapping away right till the death. Could be a very exciting finale.

I actually think it´s the other way this year. It might do with 35-36 points and I think so because there are already so many draws in the games that has been played between the bottom 7 teams and I think there will be many more draws to come when they face each other next time.

Having a look at next weekends games and beyond this is what I think the table could look like come the new year. And all things considering I think it could make quite good reading considering our start and how things were looking. Or I could just being over optimistic about results going our way? Seems quite a few of the other teams have some very tricky games coming up

14 Aston Villa-----18pts----L Chelsea

15 Newcastle------18pts----D QPR

16 Saints----------18pts----W Sunderland

17 Sunderland----16pts----L Saints

18 Wigan----------15pts----L Arsenal

19 QPR------------11pts----D Newcastle

20 Reading--------9pts----L Arsenal, L Man City

Then going on to the boxing day games

14 Saints----------19pts----D Fulham

15 Aston Villa-----18pts----L Spurs

16 Newcastle------18pts----L Man Utd

17 Sunderland-----16pts----L Man City

18 Wigan-----------15pts----L Arsenal

19 QPR-------------12pts----D West Brom

20 Reading---------10pts----D Swansea

After the 30th/31st games

14 Aston Villa-----21pts----W Wigan

15 Saints----------19pts----L Stoke

16 Newcastle------18pts----L Arsenal

17 Sunderland-----16pts----L Spurs

18 Wigan-----------15pts----L Aston Villa

19 QPR-------------13pts----D Liverpool

20 Reading---------10pts----D West Ham

Then after new year games

14 Aston Villa-----22pts----D Swansea

15 Saints----------19pts----L Arsenal

16 Newcastle------18pts----L Everton

17 Sunderland-----17pts----D Liverpool

18 Wigan-----------15pts----L Man Utd

19 QPR-------------13pts----L Chelsea

20 Reading---------10pts----L Spurs

As I said - I might not be giving other teams enough credit. But despite me thinking we may only pick up 4 points, there is still a chance the table could look alright?

Sunderland -3- Massive game, needs to be 3 points, and I think (hope) it will be.

Fulham -1- Think this may be a rather dull boxing day affair. Draw written all over it for me, considering their Home record probably not a bad point.

Stoke -0- Can't see Pulis' boring bunch of Thugs & Freaks dropping any points to us. Will kick us off the pitch all over the place - just hope we don't come away with too many injuries.

Arsenal - too hard to call at the moment. As said, totally dependent on which arsenal team shows up. Potential for a Draw or Win here though.

Villa - Big game, would take a point, though a win would be amazing. So inconsistent, though looking better of late. Smacks more of a must-not-lose to me.

Same as delldays

Sunderland - 1

Fulham - 1

Stoke - 0

Arsenal - 0

Villa - 0

Sunderland will not be a walkover. Fulham are solid at home, we are the opposite away. Stoke will be an interesting one but think they'll rough us up. Arsenal will be too good and Villare on the up.

Here's my two pence:

Sunderland (H) 1 - Think It'll be one of those games when Saints go 1-0 up, someone makes and error and it ends up 1-1, hope I'm wrong.

Fulham (A) 1 - Craven Cottage is a very tough place to go, regardless of what form Fulham are in going in to that game, another 1-1 draw.

Stoke (A) 0 - One of the toughest places to go outside the top 6 teams, don't expect anything out of this game, 1-0 Stoke.

Arsenal (H) 0 - Just think they'll be too good for us again, 3-1 Arsenal.

Villa (A) 3 - Villa won't turn up again against us and we'll win it 3-0.

They have only won two games since we last played them?

I think 6 or 7 points is mid-range. A very outside chance of us getting 12-15, getting only 0-2 is pretty unlikely as well though.

Slightly lower than half way between 0 and 15 due to the dominance of aways and having Arsenal at home, but Sunderland home should be a home win and all of the aways offer a reasonable chance of a win.

These are the kind of games in which we'll determine whether we're in a relegation battle or boringly lower mid-table.
