Avenue Saint Posted 16 December, 2012 Posted 16 December, 2012 What would be your thoughts on Adkins IF in 3 seasons, Saints go from bottom of league 1 to a mid-table finish in top flight?
Avenue Saint Posted 16 December, 2012 Author Posted 16 December, 2012 Abysmal. Sack him straight away. Good response. Wouldn't expect any less from you...
Thedelldays Posted 16 December, 2012 Posted 16 December, 2012 would you rather be deaf and go down..or blind and stay up..?
Avenue Saint Posted 16 December, 2012 Author Posted 16 December, 2012 would you rather be deaf and go down..or blind and stay up..? Try again, and in English please.
sotonjoe Posted 16 December, 2012 Posted 16 December, 2012 How would you feel if you got told you had just six months to live?
the stain Posted 16 December, 2012 Posted 16 December, 2012 would you rather be deaf and go down.. I bet you sailors are always asking each other that.
Turkish Posted 16 December, 2012 Posted 16 December, 2012 I would say he is a terrible manager because he only got us to and promotion by spending money, he clearly needs money to succeed.
Avenue Saint Posted 16 December, 2012 Author Posted 16 December, 2012 How would you feel if you got told you had just six months to live? Well seeing as though my son died in June as newborn and mother diagnosed with cancer two days ago, I think I understand the concept of death as much as the next man.
Turkish Posted 16 December, 2012 Posted 16 December, 2012 How would you feel if you got told you had just six months to live? Wold you rather stay up and have 5 months to live or go down and have 7?
hypochondriac Posted 16 December, 2012 Posted 16 December, 2012 Well seeing as though my son died in June as newborn and mother diagnosed with cancer two days ago, I think I understand the concept of death as much as the next man. Why are you on here then?
Avenue Saint Posted 16 December, 2012 Author Posted 16 December, 2012 I would say he is a terrible manager because he only got us to and promotion by spending money, he clearly needs money to succeed. Didn't realise he was the only professional manager in work who spends money.
Avenue Saint Posted 16 December, 2012 Author Posted 16 December, 2012 Why are you on here then? You going to tell me how to live my life now then? Funny man
Turkish Posted 16 December, 2012 Posted 16 December, 2012 Didn't realise he was the only professional manager in work who spends money. Isn't a charge made reguarly against several managers that this fourm doesnt like that they only do well when they have money? By that same token Nigel has only done/will do well because he has had money. He didn't take S****horpe from L1 to midtable in the premier league did he.

Enlightening.

Turkish Posted 16 December, 2012 Posted 16 December, 2012 Ok, so we know what you would say. Enlightening. It's not what I would say, I would say the if we finish midtable he's done a fantastic job. But some of our other posters would surely not acclaim it as a success as they have critisised other managers for only being successful when they have money to spend. He coldnt do it with S****horpe when he had none. This is exactly the case with Nige is it not?
Olallana Posted 16 December, 2012 Posted 16 December, 2012 thus far...nigel needs to spend 7th most in europe to do what branfoot and dave jones could manage on a pittence Oh thank you. I did not know that Branfoot and Jones took over their teams when they were in the bottom of L1.....
Thedelldays Posted 16 December, 2012 Posted 16 December, 2012 Oh thank you. I did not know that Branfoot and Jones took over their teams when they were in the bottom of L1..... well, so many others have come up from the NPC..full of players that would get laughed at on here, with managers no one would ever want, spend money they would cause outrage on here...yet stayed up in the prem first shout.... so, anything other than safety and nigel would not be as good as phil brown or paul jewell as a premier league manager..
the stain Posted 16 December, 2012 Posted 16 December, 2012 Why are you on here then? Thats very insensitive given what avenue saint has just told you. What's it got to do with you what he does? He's obviously been/going through a hard time and your reaction is unpleasant.

Did sod all for Hughes at qpr...
hypochondriac Posted 16 December, 2012 Posted 16 December, 2012 You going to tell me how to live my life now then? Funny man Just seems odd that after a double tragedy you have the time or desire to post inane questions on a football message board. Fair play to you for having the stamina.
stardustonmyfeet Posted 16 December, 2012 Posted 16 December, 2012 thus far...nigel needs to spend 7th most in europe to do what branfoot and dave jones could manage on a pittance Does Nigel have Matt Le Tissier available in his well-established top division squad?
Thedelldays Posted 16 December, 2012 Posted 16 December, 2012 Does Nigel have Matt Le Tissier available in his well-established top division squad? nor does he have jimmy bullard or dean windass...phill brown stayed up...
Olallana Posted 16 December, 2012 Posted 16 December, 2012 well, so many others have come up from the NPC..full of players that would get laughed at on here, with managers no one would ever want, spend money they would cause outrage on here...yet stayed up in the prem first shout.... so, anything other than safety and nigel would not be as good as phil brown or paul jewell as a premier league manager.. True.....but judge the club after 38 games, not 16. Anyone that dont see the improvements in the team for the last month must be....*choose your own word here*
Turkish Posted 16 December, 2012 Posted 16 December, 2012 I think he should be regarded as a raving success should we achieve that feat, money or no money. Did sod all for Hughes at qpr... Would he have done it without money though? It's only fair to ask the question as a number of posters on here have criticised other managers regularly for only doing well when they have it.

Anyone that dont see the improvements in the team for the last month must be....*choose your own word here* fair enough...but if we dont stay up..nigel is in no way anything sort of the manager we (or some) think he is or will be.....some utter dross have come up and stayed up with no where near the money/players nigel has.. we shall see
Avenue Saint Posted 16 December, 2012 Author Posted 16 December, 2012 thus far...nigel needs to spend 7th most in europe to do what branfoot and dave jones could manage on a pittence When did you switch your opinions on Nigel? Was it A) when all the new players were bought? B) after 3 games C) your in the habit of changing opinions prematurely?
Thedelldays Posted 16 December, 2012 Posted 16 December, 2012 When did you switch your opinions on Nigel? Was it A) when all the new players were bought? B) after 3 games C) your in the habit of changing opinions prematurely? what the hell are you on about..?

It's only fair to ask the question as a number of posters on here have criticised other managers regularly for only doing well when they have it. Money helps in increasing your chances of sourcing quality players but is no way the determining factor. A quality manager is where success is sourced.
Avenue Saint Posted 16 December, 2012 Author Posted 16 December, 2012 what the hell are you on about..? What I'm on about is the hysterical fanny you've been on here about Adkins this season! People used to take the mick out of alpine for the same things but its been you this season. Man up.
Thedelldays Posted 16 December, 2012 Posted 16 December, 2012 Money helps in increasing your chances of sourcing quality players but is no way the determining factor. A quality manager is where success is sourced. I would say arry is very much a quality manager then

Restark19 Posted 16 December, 2012 Posted 16 December, 2012 Why are you on here then? You're an absolute c*nt aren't you?
Avenue Saint Posted 16 December, 2012 Author Posted 16 December, 2012 I would say arry is very much a quality manager then A manager has a lot of responsibilities at a football club. He failed in a lot of those alongside other members of staff at places like Pompey, Bournemouth etc... He's an effective manager but with baggage. Would I ever want him at Saints? Never.
S-Clarke Posted 16 December, 2012 Posted 16 December, 2012 You're an absolute c*nt aren't you? A vile human being.

You can never say never, but he was a **** here and for that reason I wouldn't be keen to ever see him here again. He is a talented manager though, that's undeniable, just a bit of a idiot with the way he turns himself into a media lovely.
Avenue Saint Posted 16 December, 2012 Author Posted 16 December, 2012 Just seems odd that after a double tragedy you have the time or desire to post inane questions on a football message board. Fair play to you for having the stamina. Always though you were a twisted waste of space.
eurosaint Posted 16 December, 2012 Posted 16 December, 2012 I think that anyone who called for him to be sacked a few games ago should not be allowed an opinion on this thread ! You should be talking about whoever you wanted him replaced with !!!
hypochondriac Posted 16 December, 2012 Posted 16 December, 2012 I think that anyone who called for him to be sacked a few games ago should not be allowed an opinion on this thread ! You should be talking about whoever you wanted him replaced with !!! Hmm difficult one though isn't it. I mean he has done brilliantly to turn it around but we didn't show many promising signs of that until West Brom. Everyone has a different tolerance point and I suspect that if it had gone on for a couple more games (if we had lost to qpr for instance) then he would have gone and most wouldn't have been too upset. Fine marginal is football...
ottery st mary Posted 16 December, 2012 Posted 16 December, 2012 Always going for a mid table position. We will gain a good return of points from our next 6/7 games and push up the table. We are more than good enough to be easily a mid table team. More luck coming our way and some decent refs for a change:rolleyes:

Just a shame some forgot the season lasted 38 games and not a mere handful.
hypochondriac Posted 16 December, 2012 Posted 16 December, 2012 Always though you were a twisted waste of space. I'm fully aware. It's not like you fail to mention it on every thread.

My daughter has assured me that all ends well in a comfortable mid table position for the mighty Saints. Sorry to hear about your personal set backs......but chin up and things will be better for you around the corner... Meryy xmas mate......make it so for your loved ones....

Meryy xmas mate......make it so for your loved ones.... Well said Otter and I also offer my good wishes. A certain poster on here should be ashamed of his comments. It would be nice if there was some moderation done on this forum and I honestly think comments like this deserve a long ban.
norwaysaint Posted 16 December, 2012 Posted 16 December, 2012 Sorry to hear you've had such a tough year Avenue Saint, Christmas can be a hard time when things are tough at home. Why are you on here then? What a nasty, petty, little man you are. How could that be anybody's first reaction? Don't you think escapism is exactly what some people would need for a while at times like that?
