A weekend off, where will we be at the end of it?

Other then having a game in hand, looking at the fixtures, what do we reckon?

Looking at the fixtures below, Sunderland will probably be put into their place at Old Trafford, Villa are on something of an upturn currently but so are Liverpool, put Suarez back into contention though and that should see them off. Could see QPR getting a first win v Fulham and Reading. Norwich and Wigan will be tricky to call too.

Wouldn't be surprised to be back in the bottom three by the end of play, but then that keeps the tension going, it wouldn't be Saints without a little tension.

Saturday

Newcastle v Man City

Liverpool v Villa

Man Utd v Sunderland

Norwich v Wigan

QPR v Fulham

Stoke v Everton

Sunday

Tottenham v Swansea

West Brom v West Ham

Monday

Reading v Arsenal

They're all back to front! Aways are homes and vice versa. Or am I going mental?

Actually apart from the early kick off (Man City to win away at Newcastle), and the Monday game (Arsenal to beat Reading) I think it'll be home wins across the board.

All very good for Saints. A win next week would be a lovely Christmas present.

Newcastle 1-2 Man City

Liverpool 2-0 Aston Villa

Man Utd 3-0 Sunderland

Norwich 2-1 Wigan

QPR 2-2 Fulham

Reading 1-3 Arsenal

Saints stay 16th.

Is this your tip for the weekly accy. Got to be worth a couple of £.

Will be a dull day today, but I can see QPR getting a win today - pretty comfortably too IMO.

Agree. Redknapp has sured them up defensively and everyone at QPR will know today is just about win or bust. Personally think Reading will be bottom at Christmas and by Feb totally cut adrift. QPR will join the party late but have a go at staying up. Fulham could do us a massive favour today.

Wigan equalize.

A pretty forgettable day so far. Horrific set.

Newcastle and Sunderland lost/losing and Sunderland's main goal threat going off injured 7 days before we play them.

We won't have every result go our way every week, what we've got is some important things today - key being Fletcher possibly out next week.

I'm only commenting on what i see! Speculation that fetcher will be out, probably won't be. So that's not a positive until the team is announced next week.

Was hoping Liverpool would do a job, but it makes our effort there look pretty poor in comparison.

Villas performance at Liverpool shows how utterly embarassing our 'stage fright' was at Anfield two weeks ago.

Yep, because every team in the league performs at the same level each and every game...

Got to agree with you there Turkeyman - real shame we didn't make the most of that opportunity. Where did we go wrong I wonder?

...another team along with Swansea and Norwich we should have beaten at St Mary's...

Would agree that we should have beaten Fulham and Swansea, but I thought a draw was fair in the Norwich game. They played pretty well that 2nd half, and could have even won it themselves. Certainly earned a draw.

Cortese was in charge for that game

Lallana admitted the players got stage fright at Anfield. Embarassing that Villa can go there and win comfortably.

We beat Villa very comfortably 4-1, what does that say about Villa?

They are winning 3-0 at Anfield. Thw same place our poor little soildiers got frightend playing at. What does that say about us?

It says, don't base a season on one off games?

Doesn't it also say Villa have more bottle than us? Afterall by our captains admission we were starstruck when we went to Anfield. How embarassing.

If you harp on about Villa winning at Anfield today, we beat Villa very comfortably 4-1, what does that say about Villa?

I'm not harping on about it. Merely making a very valid comment on th difference in attitude of the two sides. Keep justifying it though I'm sure you'll convince yourself that our 1-0 defeat wa a great result.

I asked you about Villa's dreadful performance at St Mary's.

What does that have to do with them winning 3-0 at a ground our players were starstruck at two weeks ago?
