They have messed up big time by creating a kit which pretty much can never be worn.

Only reason they have switched it is so they can't get complaints from people who bought a kit that is worn once or twice in the season.

"Come on you whites"?

Was quite odd at Liverpool, people when normally everyone sings 'come on you reds' i.e. corner/free kick/or spontaneously, that subconciously didnt happen and i actually feel the atmosphere from our fans was worse because of it. Atleast when we're in yellow we can chant YEELLOOOWWWSSS.

Come on you Saints will have to do I think.

In reality, as TDD put it succinctly and effectively "Who cares?".

Grown men b!tching about what top other men are wearing.

Sounds a bit Gok Wan to me.

Kit is important, its the clubs appearance for the season. I would swap 3 points vs Reading for a decent red and white stripe kit.

Agreed. It's like when players boot colours don't match their socks' date=' I have to boo. Guly is terrible for this.[/quote']

Pretty bizarre to boo based on boot choices. Or booing your own player full stop - hardly helps to create a good atmosphere.

It's probably only one game anyway, and can anyone really say they're bothered by the cup this season? I hope we play the kids and get it over and done with.

Pathetic attitude.

Why? Surely we've got more important issues this season. Would you rather we went on a run, got a pileup of fixtures and a tired squad, which would more than likely cost us points in the league?

Momentum.

Winning is a habit.

"You are a TIGER!! Raaarhhh!"

According to the article the white kit is one of the most popular we've ever had. I cant have seen more than a handful anywhere since it went on sale so either there are lots of peoples cupboards where an unworn white shirt is hanging or the club are being creative with their marketing.

Daughter wears her white kit (with Guly on the back) to every home game. Its a much better shirt than the red one, but it was a stupid idea for an away kit.

I think that has been said about every kit we've ever released...

It says 'for many seasons'. To me thats probably why we were in the lower leagues therefore less shirts sold in general. I actually don't mind the white kit, but still think it's a pointless away kit. They're just trying to sell more shirts and by making it our home kit for the FA Cup, it'll get a bit more spotlight.

Because winning trophies is what it's all about. It's something people would still talk about in 50 years time, it's a day that would live with you forever, it makes spending thousands on watching your team week in week out worth it, it's a place in Europe, it's a place in history.

Most Brum fans I know said if given the choice of not winning the League Cup and staying up, they would've turned it down. They preferred winning a trophy but being relegated.

Ahem, we need to beet chelsea and get another home draw to wear it more than twice surely? Clashes with stoke and sunderland so thats them out, man utd where white and red, scratch them, noone else wears red so we will wear the home strip. Therefore it's going to get worn twice this season unless we beat chelsea?? Or have I missed some teams?

This might be a stupid question, but surely we can wear it at Norwich, Villa and Chelsea, and could've worn it at West Ham? Add Liverpool and that's at least five games for our supposed first choice away kit!

We wore it at Liverpool.

If we survive this season, we'll give ourselves plenty of opportunities to win trophies.

In a season like this, where we've been almost nailed on certainties to get relegated, with a shaky defence and a thin squad, it's not really priority IMO. Especially now we were unlucky enough to draw Chelsea at home.

Stay up, consolidate, then start thinking about pushing on and challenging for silverware. IMO.

Apparently the club have decided that, unless they can wear the full white (i.e. including white shorts and socks) then it won't be worn at all. Chelsea wear white socks so we'd definitely have to change there. Villa have white shorts which might require a change. And West Ham have white shorts so might have required a change.

Against Norwich its possible; although the contrast of yellow v white may not be enough and the ref might ask for the home strip to be worn.

have you noticed they never give any actual figures ? just spin it to sound good.

you never know though there are probably thousands of japanese fans wearing it over in Tokyo they've been snapping it up since we launched our jap twitter account

Imo, they are not good at marketing due to the fact that our main away kit is the yellow one, of which you can't buy. This would indicate a loss of revenue in the shop, and money tied up in stock of white shirts which nobody buys cos we never wear it. Imbeciles.

I wasn't aware we could pick and choose the seasons we decide to win the cup.

Sorry, what the f*ck are you on about. It makes perfect sense that we field a weaker team in the cup this season, resting our first team and focusing on league games, if we stay up we then aim to bring in more quality players next season and improve the all round quality of the team. Then allowing us to compete in the league and the cup. I'd much rather stay up but get thrashed by Chelsea. Winning the cup hasn't done Birmingham much good has it.

Well it has, they won a cup.

Also, am I missing something? Are we not eligible for relegation next season due to completing one full season in the Premiership?

We can pick and chose the seasons we're best equipped to challenge for one, surely?

We already made sure that we got knocked out of the League Cup before it started to affect our league fixtures. I wouldn't be at all surprised if we did the same in the FA cup.

If given the choice I'd say take being relegated if we could win the FA Cup.

Lets hope for red and white stripes and black shorts next season.... yellow and blue away !!! Novel HUH

The yellow away kit is boring as hell, been done to death over the years.

Black, Pink, Light Blue, Green or Maroon would be much better choices for me personally.

Yes, I recall we did this in 1976. We knew in January we were nailed on for a Wembley triumph.

probably some marketing tw4t at umbro thought it would be AMAZING to create the red and white stripes using the shirts being worn by the players - nobody clearly gave any thought to exactly how many games we could wear it to. Sounds like a major **** up to me.

It wasn't some marketing tw*t at Umbro that chose the kits mate......

Home, either red/white conventional stripes, or a Keegan era for me.

.

Yellow shirts, blue shorts are boring, agree.

Amber and black though would be fine by me.

Good job I'm not a bloody cynic otherwise this would smell of rampant bloody commercialism to sell yet more bloody shirts...

What's the funny point anyway as we'll get slaughtered by the mob from South London so it'll be a one off wearing.

My advice... save your scarce and hard to come by money. Don't get suckered! The final insult will be when we get to play in all-blue.

We had a blue away kit a few years back.
