Now that kid is a player, there's not a chance we could get him on a permanent as that article suggests. Rated as one of Inters top prospects, so I don't know why they'd want to sell him. They loaned him out last year to Espanyol and he was unplayable sometimes, saw a couple of games on Sky which he played in. He's way too good for us, put it that way. It's fair enough getting Gaston, but this kid would be totally out of our league to buy. Now, a loan may be an option...and would be a stunning addition. Giordano Posted 7 January, 2013 Share Posted 7 January, 2013 If i recall correctly, Wesley Schneider is on something like $200,000 a week at Inter, but is not playing. If AL is going to be out a while, and as a short term til end of season loan do you think a cheeky bid to pay a quarter or a half his wages for six months plus a little bonus if we stay up could get him off Inters hands for a while but give him the EPL stage to show hes still got it? Would cost us maybe £3m over that time but we should sell out everywhere and he would surely shine in england. Worth a punt? It might be time to mix it up a bit with such a high profile loanee ( unlike that hopeless spurs kid last year), and they don't get much higher than WS. Schneider would never, ever play for a lowly club like Saints. These blokes have egos the size of Mt Blanc. Not in the CL? forget it. Money isn't everything, they want bling and success. I mean did you see Balotelli's Bentley, what other idiot would get a camouflage painted Bentley but that's the sort of mentality these 200K a week blokes actually have.. There is clearly something wrong there because he was being linked with £20 million + moves a year ago, now it seems Inter are pretty much willing to let him go for free if someone takes him but it looks like no one wants the wages. His ego and attitude must be off the chart for none of the big clubs to take him. Most likely he will end up at a big spending Russian club. Red Posted 11 January, 2013 Share Posted 11 January, 2013 Targets should have been identified weeks before Janaury, biggest game of the season Saturday and zero CB or GK What a boring and uninformed comment ("Janaury" ??) ! Targets were identified in the summer (failed with keeper and high profile CB), and renewed again in this window, but just because we want a player, their current side will not roll over, no matter what we offer! They will play the game and get as much as they can, whilst lining up their replacement etc. etc. Don't see too many other major transfers done yet by the bigger/smarter clubs, so I guess we are not the only mugs?? BTW - as you are such an expert, why don't you apply for transfer specialist at the club - would be genuinely delighted if you could get all our first choice transfers done within the first ten days of the transfer period - really would be! Personally, I think this self imposed transfer window (by footy authorities) is just plain daft (in Parkinson speak), and may even be in breach of EU free trade practice - I am sure someone will challenge it sooner or later as per Bosman case. Wade Garrett Posted 11 January, 2013 Share Posted 11 January, 2013 It's great isn't it, every club out there has its few fans who suggest they look at players before January or June and have deals wrapped up. They must live in very simple worlds where coincidentally no-one else but them has noticed how simple it all is. Either that or....nope, must be that. Broadly, in effect, the January transfer window is basically the last week in January. It's madness.
