Tonight's prem game - Sunderland v Reading

1. Draw

2. Reading

3. Sunderland

Draw priority, if either has to win then Reading because they are poor and IMO will be down. Sunderland win is bad news - they have better players that are under performing and if they win could go on a run, including the game at SMS - keep them down there in poor form as long as we can.

Controversial: Reading win for me, they're clearly nowhere near good enough to stay up so I really don't think we have to worry about them over the course of the season. Sunderland should be doing much better than they are, so the fewer points they pick up when they should, the better, IMO.

Agree with this. Im already confident we'll finish ahead of Reading and QPR- but Sunderland, Newcastle, Villa and Wigan, not so much.

Not controversial SG. A Sunderland win would be the worst result.

:toppa:

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate where some are coming from in wanting Sunderland to win so Reading and QPR are cut adrift completely, and there's some merit in a situation where we know we're fighting to avoid being the one worst team out of the rest, but with the fixture list sending Sunderland our way next week, we could do without them having any confidence. They go to Old Trafford on Saturday as well...

This.

Especially as a Sunderland win would put them back above us. A draw or loss would keep them below us. Follow that with a dicking at Old Trafford and then we could put space between us when we play them.

i don't want us dropping back into the bottom three before we next play.

Reading forum reporting that Guthrie walked off the training ground when he heard he was not starting.

They are going to pieces.

Guthrie's appeared to have problems there ever since he arrived. Very odd. Apparently there's some sort of issue with Alex Pearce as well (saw loads of references to it on that Reading forum that was linked earlier in the week), although no idea what that entails.

Pearce is out of contract in the summer and refusing to sign a new one. Fans want him starting but he isnt being picked apparantly because of the contract situation.

Meanwhile after BMD said he wants Prem experience in Jan the owner is picking players in Russia!

Good god Reading are poor. I thought they were bad Saturday but this is embarrassing, they have no plan of attack and seem unable to deal with Sunderlands only attack of go wide and hope it gets to Fletcher.

They're dreadful. My only real criticism of our performances in recent weeks is the inability to put teams to the sword when we've been so far on top. Newcastle and Reading should have been done for 4 or 5 goals apiece, and think what our goal difference would look like if that had happened. Sunderland have struggled to score goals all season and yet they look like they could get double figures tonight.

Was thinking the same, they're clueless with a real lack of quality.

as people said when we were bottom, re - adkins....there is no point as who would come in...?

so far...reading have..

drew at QPR

lost at wigan

lost at Saints

losing at sunderland

didnt they lose at villa..?

BUT...they have all these teams to play at home yet......and likewise...we have the opposite....maybe it could all change...

that is what NickG's on the reading forum would say
