Winchester Red Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 Help me out people because I just don't get this. No doubt the actions of the Man Citeh fans was pretty pathetic on Sunday but our mate Rio seems to be cast a complete victim in all this. Yet, in the 90th(odd) minute of a heated derby, with the away team having just grabbed a last minute winner, he chooses to run the Citeh fans (not to his team mates) and grabs/exposes his shirt and club badge in a pretty provocative manner, shoving it in the direction of the home support. Now what did he expect to happen? Polite applause? Chants of there's only one Rio Ferdinand? But I haven't heard one word from a ruling body, journo or even any fans (other than Citeh ones) pointing out that perhaps Mr Ferdinand in some way brought the situation on himself. Feel free to tell me what I've missed because this guy with his holier than thou and self-righteous approach is starting to get right up my nose
anothersaintinsouthsea Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 wasn't he celebrating in front of his own fans?
Winchester Red Posted 11 December, 2012 Author Share Posted 11 December, 2012 wasn't he celebrating in front of his own fans? Well if he was then that makes a bit more sense. Bloody good shot with the lighter then if he wasn't in front of the away section. How far away were they?
Bearsy Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 on MOTD2 they do that thing where they put twitter comments up on screen and it said "Good shot to whoever threw that coin! Just wish it had been pound coin rather than 2p" I was surprised bout the bbc sharing that! Lols tho.

dinger Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 wasn't he celebrating in front of his own fans? This. Not to mention the fact that there is no excuse, absolutely none, for what the City fans did. If you can't be trusted not to act violently in public then you shouldn't be at liberty to appear in public.
Winchester Red Posted 11 December, 2012 Author Share Posted 11 December, 2012 This. Not to mention the fact that there is no excuse, absolutely none, for what the City fans did. If you can't be trusted not to act violently in public then you shouldn't be at liberty to appear in public. I don't disagree with you at all. But isn't it a bit like going into a gay pub and saying loudly to your straight mate that all gays deserve a good kicking and then wondering why somebody whacks you? It was a heated atmosphere anyway and I think the players need to use what little brain they do possess

Bearsy Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 Oh is that right? I was a bit drunken, I thought it was someone mugging him off. I figured they meant pound coin would do more damage but if it was Rio I spose he meant times is hard cos of Christmas. Thanks for making me look mug tho! He was with the other Manure players, it was in front of the UtD fans but not that far from the nearest home section.

He looked like he was off to the side of them to me, while the others celebrated with RVP Might be wrong though. Makes him a bit less of a tw*t if that's the case (but still a tw*t all the same )

Feel free to tell me what I've missed because this guy with his holier than thou and self-righteous approach is starting to get right up my nose As others have said it was in front of the Utd fans, when I first saw it I thought that he'd poked himself in the eye when he pulled his shirt up (maybe he was slicing himself WWE style to make it look worse!!) The tweet about the 2p compared to the £1 coin was also from Rio, as was this more provocative one :- "Respect to Joe Hart for protecting that idiot who ran on!! Love the banter between fans but there is a point when it goes too far...calm it!"
Lighthouse Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 It wasn't a 2p it was a Euro. Apparently Man City fans don't need them any more.
Huffton Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 I would happily take a coin to the head if I could celebrate a last kick winner against the skates at ****hole park
