View From The Top Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 We are due to play them on the 23/02 but they have the 2nd leg of the Europa Cup Rd of 32 on 21/02 so our game will be pushed back to the Sunday. If Liverpool make it through to the last 16 our home game against them on 16/03 will be moved as they 2nd leg is on the 14/03.

The9 Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 Had a discussion with Mr Steve Grant about this a week or so back. Glad to know for sure so far in advance the date of the Newcastle match - not on tv either.
Sour Mash Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 All correct and something we've kept in mind for a while. Not sure if the fact that the League Cup final is on that Sunday afternoon will affect our kick off time or not? Expect not, but never know. Sour Mash Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 At least Newcastle and us aren't still in the League Cup. I know that! Just couldn't remember from previous years if they play regular league games at the same time as the League Cup final or if it'll get moved to a lunch-time kick off on that day. The9 Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 Last season the Cardiff v Liverpool Final was played the same day as Sunday 26th February 2012 Arsenal 5-2 Tottenham Hotspur Norwich City 1-2 Manchester United Stoke City 2-0 Swansea City Not yet found out the kick off times though. The9 Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 (edited) Cardiff v Liverpool was a 4pm kick off : http://www.football-league.co.uk/capitalonecup/news/20120203/carling-cup-final-ticket-details_2293330_2599041 Arsenal v Spurs was 1:30pm : http://www1.skysports.com/football/live/match/253529/report Norwich v Man U : 1:30pm : http://www1.skysports.com/football/live/match/254222 Stoke v Swansea : 3pm : http://www1.skysports.com/football/live/match/253866 So two matches with 1:30pm kick offs (and the North London derby was televised whilst the Norwich match wasn't) but Stoke overlapping with the Carling Cup Final, so it seems that they don't move matches to avoid the Carling Cup final... unless they want to. Tokyo-Saint Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 Let's hope their 2nd leg match is a nice away tie in Russia or similar.
stevegrant Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 Arsenal v Spurs was televised, so probably a 1pm kick-off. The other two weren't on TV, Man United and Stoke were in the Europa League on the Thursday, so they'd have been standard 3pm kickoffs.

stevegrant Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 Let's hope their 2nd leg match is a nice away tie in Russia or similar. Potential opponents for Newcastle: Viktoria Plzen (CZE), Fenerbahce (TUR), Steaua Bucharest (ROM), Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk (UKR), Genk (BEL), Rubin Kazan (RUS), Lyon (FRA), Lazio (ITA), Metalist Kharkiv (UKR), Hannover (GER), CFR Cluj (ROM), Olympiakos (GRE), Benfica (POR). In terms of a difficult journey, the worst draws would be Dnipro, Rubin Kazan and Metalist Kharkiv. The others are all fairly straightforward. stevegrant Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 and Spurs away to , if they get to semi finals. I think the Europa League semi-finals are played on a different week to the Champions League ones, so they get shifted to the Wednesday, which subsequently means any following league game wouldn't need to be moved. Tokyo-Saint Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 I'll take extra time and pens in the snow in Dnipro, followed by a 4 hour plane delay and an internal bust up over who Pardew may or may not be boning please Bob.

Not that Spurs will get that far anyway.

JRM Posted 20 December, 2012 Share Posted 20 December, 2012 good news that , will be tough for them playing in Ukraine just 3 days before us. hopefully they pick up a few knocks then have a 4 hour flight back , hope it is tight from 1st leg so they play their strongest team. still undecided about making journey up there on a Sunday , unfortunately having sunderland away on a Sunday as well two trips tough to do.
