Mr Dad Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 Hi, I'm trying to order Stoke away tickets (Dec 28) online. No matter which link route I try, I am put in a queue for Chelsea Cup Tickets. But I don't need Chelsea tickets! I can't visit ticket office (which is probably rammed anyway) and phonelines are permanently engaged. Does anyone have any ideas?
ant Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 'Try again at lunchtime when it's died down' is about the best advice I can offer. The only alternative is to get in the queue and wait it out. Shouldn't take that long, although I'd advise leaving a browser window open so that you don't miss when the system lets you in. No idea why there's such large numbers clamouring for the FA Cup tickets. This allocation is only open to ST holders and even then your seat's reserved (unless you're in block 41 or 42). But there is nothing in the OP to suggest there is a big rush for Chelsea tickets, just that he is being put in a queue for them and not able to just buy a ticket for Stoke. Terrible system. oldsarum Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 I've just been online, and it comes up for me with 2 options, one for Cup ticket reservation, the other match tickets I went in Match tickets and all games currently on sale come up including Stoke, NB Fulham now has only restricted view tickets left online
Huffton Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 I wonder if the new 'director of communications' will have any input into improving this totally flawed system. I notice on the OS that away ticket priority is being given on number of matches attended, so what is the point of having a points per match system? Utter utter joke:rolleyes:

Terrible system. I suppose so - was going on the OP's statement that the phone lines were "permanently engaged". Also presumed it was a legit queue on the website as I wasn't online at 9am, but it does seem the wait times were a bit extreme. From a technical standpoint I can sort of see why an increase in demand (if there was one) would mean there's not the capacity for any other sales either, though it creates a pretty poor user experience. In any case you can enter the ticket site straight away now.

Mr Dad Posted 11 December, 2012 Author Share Posted 11 December, 2012 I got there in the end! I waited in the queue for Chelsea tickets and was eventually redirected to the regular online ticket sales page. I was able to buy Stoke Away tickets. I'd have been pretty hacked off if I HAD been waiting for Chelsea tickets because when I reached the front of the queue there was no option to buy them! I think the online ticket sales user experience needs some work.

pingwing Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 So our new director of communications should really just run a campaign teaching every saints fan how to use the online ticket system...
Big Bad Bob Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 Go straight to http://southamptonfc.pvxgateway.com/singleTickets/, doesn't dump you in no queue
Mr Dad Posted 11 December, 2012 Author Share Posted 11 December, 2012 Go straight to http://southamptonfc.pvxgateway.com/singleTickets/, doesn't dump you in no queue I did get there in the end but i'll keep that link for the future thanks. The problem might happen again one day and that'll be worth a try. I notice that the site has calmed now anyway. Cheers!
