This Charming Man Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 Chaplow has been cited in this role before. Are people ignoring him or forgetting him? Personally I feel that if Nigel had brought on Chaplow to disturb the Man U midfield after Scholes came on, we just might have saved (ie held on to) that game. Yes and rightly so. He is nowhere near good enough for the Premiership.

This Charming Man Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 Why do most people on here say nearly everything is an awful article? Because they personally don't agree with it or don't like what they're saying. Therefore it's an awful article. Articles that say how great we are, how we've done so well over the past few years and how great our academy is, are all wonderfully written articles. Window Cleaner Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 What's your take on the general quality of the French LEague? Watched a bit of Toulouse v Bastia the other night and even taking the terrible quality of pitch into consideration, there wasn't much class on show. Poor, far too many Africans because they're cheap and run around a lot. I'm not a fan of French domestic fooball at all . I go to St Etienne sometimes because I like going to matches and I've a few friends on the staff there .
trousers Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 I must have seen him play because he was in VA's side at St Etienne the other week, just don't remember much about him; Think he has cracked ribs or something just now because he didn't play in VA's last game. Might watch VA-PSG on TV tonight. PSG blow tepid and cold, some of those italians and brazilians that they've signed are pretty poor. Still Qatari money is easy to come by I suppose. LostBoys Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 Interesting. And if the Scott Dann/Paul Robinson rumour is accurate, well its about time we started using Blackburn as a feeder club, they did it with us for long enough when jack walker bought them the title. LOL Jack Walker mugged Guy Askham who was Chairman at the time - huge difference in class of management

Saint Charlie Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 Watching the game, 75mins gone and an Ibra hattrick means PSG are 3-0 up. Im a positive person but in this game Sanchez has shown nothing to suggest he is worth signing. He hasnt really sat in front of the back four and hasnt got forward, he has been bypassed really. Seems average on the ball. PSG are too good for Valencienne all over the pitch however.

Risible, still as I have very little appreciation of our transfer committee I could see us signing him, wouldn't even make the U21s...now Pompey....... Valenciennes are (or were) 5th in the division. Apart from a few stars at PSG,Lyon and Marseille the standard of the league is a joke. Edited 11 December, 2012 by Window Cleaner

supersonic Posted 12 December, 2012 Share Posted 12 December, 2012 Cannot for the life of me seeing this happening, and if it does, I'd be worried. Firstly, he's a centre back havig to play in midfield for his club as they're short of options. Secondly, he's poor, no better than what we have (about same standard as Hooiveld) And his off-field behaviour says to me it won't happen. 3 agents in 3 years (one sacked him!), demande £60k a week at Bolton. Can you really see Cortese dealing with him? His file should be placed in the "no thanks" pile

Rebel Posted 12 December, 2012 Share Posted 12 December, 2012 Lucas Biglia from Antwerp - he's 25 so got the mix of youth and experience we need. He's Argentinian but holds an Italian passport. Honestly I don't know, would be a gamble, but maybe worth it to stay in the league considering the TV deal next year. I can see us spending more than most around us bar maybe QPR. To be fair if rumours were to be believed in the summer another £12 million was going on a CB and Phillips. I think we are going to struggle with the centre back anyway, I think the quality of player we need is going to be more than what the club want to pay. Nigel=God-Poyet=Sod Posted 12 December, 2012 Share Posted 12 December, 2012 He was the stand out player for Anderlecht in pre season. Think he would be an immense signing but I would have thought bigger clubs would be fishing around him. CB must be the priority and seeing as though this is about him, Carlos Sanchez is one to definately miss out. Not good enough.
