With acknowledgement to Hatch who posted this link on another thread, it shows what is (in my view) a very interesting reflection on Saint's present situation - and recent achievements.

Of the 8 teams at the bottom of the Prem table, 7 of them occupy the bottom 7 places in the "last 6 matches" form guide, with 6 pts or less. This indicates that they are performing pretty much exactly in accordance with their league position.

Saints, however, occupy fourth place, behind Man U, Stoke and Norwich, with 11 pts.

They say its all about momentum..........sure as hell hope so!!!

Good to see that. Win against Sunderland and I really think we can push on. We've stopped leaking 3 goals per game and look a lot more solid as a unit. Feels a lot different to just one month ago. But still people will moan

Lovely to see. No surprise when finding different players all pretty much saying the same thing in that we're in a false position.

Adkins clearly has the boys believing in better!

Form has a lot to do with your last 6 games too though, forgive me I cant remember all 6 but is it Swansea, norwich, qpr, reading, liverpool and I cant remember the other one.

Not to put too much of a downer on it though, what is very pleasing is that we are starting to gel more as a team and seem to be moving forward, our run of easier games has come at the right time IMO, again with Fulham and Sunderland before Jan.

We need to take this into the new tear to give us a chance and thankfully the teams around us seem to ve struggling more.

The lallana siruation is a biggy, but if we pick up 6 points before Xmas Ill be an aweful lot happier

but then again, there is also that saying "you have to beat the teams around you".

Apart from Wigan we have played most of them recently and are unbeaten against them.

Form is temporary, class is permanent. We have form at present, but we have that little bit of class in our side to keep positive results happening through the season, even if they don't occur as frquently as they have of late.

Our goal is safety, I hate to say it, and perhaps later in the season we can look higher, but right now it's safety, and I truly believe we have the quality to stay up. Let's hope we do.
