Turkish Posted 10 December, 2012 Share Posted 10 December, 2012 Still mainly just this one. We'll only see whether best 11, settled back 4 and not playing Fox are relevant if we keep the same defence for the matches against the likes of Arsenal and Man City in the New Year - I think we still make enough minor errors back there that half-decent sides would take advantage of that it's only the failings of the opposition. Hopefully Shaw at the very least will prove to be an improvement in the longer run, certainly looking less exposed than Fox did. Great play from Lambert for the goal on saturday wasnt it. david in sweden Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 Phillips is a good bit younger though, made his PL debuts at about 18 ish I think, Lallana's stats are a bit doped by the 20 odd he scored in our first league 1 campaign, subsequent seasons have seen him scoring less and less. TBH I never saw Lallana as a regular goal scorer...and regardless of age expereince, if you want to spend another £6-7 million ..then get an established striker ...and not a winger who scores occasionally. But we need a winger more than a striker? A good wideman isn't judged by goal tally.

Seaford Saint Posted 3 February, 2013 Author Share Posted 3 February, 2013 As you can see from my thread started 2 months ago Jay Rod had been improving enough for his performances to be notable for the right reasons.
The Kraken Posted 3 February, 2013 Share Posted 3 February, 2013 Not to the tune of £7m though. Overspend IMO.

pap Posted 3 February, 2013 Share Posted 3 February, 2013 How many people on this thread have spent 7 million on anything? I just want to know how the 7 million is a waste of money thing works. You could argue that nearly all transfers are a waste of money, with respect to the sums involved and the average amount paid back.
