Jimmy_D Posted 8 December, 2012 Posted 8 December, 2012 Close between Cork and Puncheon I reckon. Honourable mention for Shaw.
Zlavik Posted 8 December, 2012 Posted 8 December, 2012 Fonte has been great aswell, I feel that he is often overlooked nowadays..

plod Posted 8 December, 2012 Posted 8 December, 2012 Punch then Lambert who was unsung hero today. worked really hard with lots of closing down and great touch and passing
Glasgow_Saint Posted 8 December, 2012 Posted 8 December, 2012 Paul Merson SSN "Reading poor, Saints did ok"
UpweySaint Posted 8 December, 2012 Posted 8 December, 2012 Punch was class, solid across the board, but I went for Morgan. Didn't put a foot wrong all day and kept winning the ball in the middle of the park stopping them from playing all day long!
Saint Garrett Posted 8 December, 2012 Posted 8 December, 2012 Shaw or Fonte for me. Will go with Fonte as thought he was superb!
S-Clarke Posted 8 December, 2012 Posted 8 December, 2012 Fonte was immense for me, looking every inch the PL cb in recent weeks. Still unsure what the 2nd half of last season was all about!
Give it to Ron Posted 8 December, 2012 Posted 8 December, 2012 Puncheon ..not for his goal but his covering of Clyne when he went forward - one time he ran 40 yards to get back and cover an out of position Clyne. Good performance from the whole defence and I thought Rodriguez had a great first half - needs a few goals but its coming.
70's Mike Posted 8 December, 2012 Posted 8 December, 2012 Yoshida for me, thought he dealt with Roberts well
Window Cleaner Posted 8 December, 2012 Posted 8 December, 2012 Fonte was immense for me, looking every inch the PL cb in recent weeks. Still unsure what the 2nd half of last season was all about! perhaps he's a bit uneasy playing with Jos, certainly looked that way in the first few games of this season.
Give it to Ron Posted 8 December, 2012 Posted 8 December, 2012 Yoshida for me' date=' thought he dealt with Roberts well[/quote'] Just read he left on crutches a bit worrying best game for us by far.
Window Cleaner Posted 8 December, 2012 Posted 8 December, 2012 Just read he left on crutches a bit worrying best game for us by far. took a knock about half way through the second half I think, looked to have run it off but who knows really.
monosaint Posted 8 December, 2012 Posted 8 December, 2012 Shaw for me. Reading targeted him all game and he stood firm.
captainchris Posted 8 December, 2012 Posted 8 December, 2012 Shaw was superb - just in another light year to Fox......
Pugwash Posted 8 December, 2012 Posted 8 December, 2012 Shaw for me. Punch did equally as well, but Luke dealt with tougher opposition in Roberts and Le Fondre. Honourable mentions for Cork and Rodriguez. Lambert unsung hero, but thought Morgan was uncharacteristically off his game today.
SaintBobby Posted 8 December, 2012 Posted 8 December, 2012 Puncheon for me. Honourable mentions for Cork and Yoshida. (and quite honourable mentions for virtually every player)
Window Cleaner Posted 8 December, 2012 Posted 8 December, 2012 , but thought Morgan was uncharacteristically off his game today. Knackered, probably needs a break unless he's looking forward to January for something other than the yellow card amnisty. Did hear a strange rumour but dismissed it as too strange.
Pugwash Posted 8 December, 2012 Posted 8 December, 2012 Knackered, probably needs a break unless he's looking forward to January for something other than the yellow card amnisty. Did hear a strange rumour but dismissed it as too strange. Quoi?
Window Cleaner Posted 8 December, 2012 Posted 8 December, 2012 Quoi? as I said strange but it was that a top German side were watching him. Heard it all before so dismissed it.
LostBoys Posted 8 December, 2012 Posted 8 December, 2012 Paul Merson SSN "Reading poor, Saints did ok" What a **** that lard face is and thick as S**t. He is only kept on there as a joke.
LostBoys Posted 8 December, 2012 Posted 8 December, 2012 More importantly it was a close run thing between Puncheon and Shaw. Shaw had better stop playing this well - he is only just 17 and cannot drive yet but every performance means Chelsea will up the ante for him.
Pugwash Posted 8 December, 2012 Posted 8 December, 2012 as I said strange but it was that a top German side were watching him. Heard it all before so dismissed it. To be fair he is the real deal and assuming we stay up, will develop into a top player. Ought to be on the fringes of the France squad.
ottery st mary Posted 8 December, 2012 Posted 8 December, 2012 Puncheon Shaw Lambert Cork Well done Uncle Nigel COYS
Restark19 Posted 8 December, 2012 Posted 8 December, 2012 Fonte just for that breaking that reading player (can't remember his name) and winning 100% of his aerial duels!
derry Posted 9 December, 2012 Posted 9 December, 2012 Needs to be combined with the poll on the match thread.
St_Tel49 Posted 9 December, 2012 Posted 9 December, 2012 Puncheon ripped their left side apart all game. He has built up a really good rapport with Clyne. If we were voting for player of the season so far it would be Puncheon for me because he is delivering these performances week in week out. Everyone played well but Shaw deserves a particular mention. I cannot believe how well he handled experienced players like that cheating b*****d Jason Roberts.
Leicestersaint Posted 9 December, 2012 Posted 9 December, 2012 I don't think there is much doubt that Puncheon was MoM follwoed by Shaw and Clyne. I am surprised at people going for Cork - I am a big fan but yesterday I thought that he had a poor first half by his standards and was only a bit better in the second.
RobM Posted 9 December, 2012 Posted 9 December, 2012 This time last year I never thought I'd be voting for Puncheon as MOTM in the Premier League. Bloody glad I am though, he's been a highlight of the season so far and on course to be POTY if this form carries on.
The Kraken Posted 9 December, 2012 Posted 9 December, 2012 I don't think there is much doubt that Puncheon was MoM follwoed by Shaw and Clyne. I am surprised at people going for Cork - I am a big fan but yesterday I thought that he had a poor first half by his standards and was only a bit better in the second. If it weren't for Puncheon's superb goal I'd have voted for Cork. He was absolutely imperious at breaking up Reading's play and getting us going; his play from tight spots was brilliant and ensured we retained the ball at vital times, while stopping Reading from building up any momentum. He really is a class act and plays that defensive shield position so well. It also frees us Schneiderlin a bit too and plays more to his strengths. Its no conincidence that we've looked a lot more solid in midfield and as a team as a whole since JC returned from injury. Such an important player for us.
St BATman Posted 9 December, 2012 Posted 9 December, 2012 Puncheon. Thought the back 5 were all solid and the 2 full backs are quickly becoming the hottest young English players in the league. The work rate of Rodriguez, particularly in the 2nd half, was immense and Lambert continues to ooze class. To think people actually try and compare him to Holt is baffling to me..
krissyboy31 Posted 9 December, 2012 Posted 9 December, 2012 Voted Cork, thought he was superb and had a lot of extra running to cover Morgan, who I thought had a stinker. Shaw, Clyne and Lambert were also class. Punch still flatters to deceive for me. No doubt he played well but still runs into Cul-de-Sacs and takes an extra touch, rather than passing it off or shooting.
Shroppie Posted 10 December, 2012 Posted 10 December, 2012 Lots of good performances, but felt Shaw deserved it. I'm no longer filled with terror whenever we're attacked down our left side.
