dellboypete Posted 8 December, 2012 Share Posted 8 December, 2012 Just on the way back from a business trip to Namibia (currently in transit in Dubai). Got to Windhoek airport several hours before the flight to Joburg last night to find all the seats in the Business Lounge had bags on them but very few people around. Turns out there was a direct flight to Frankfurt about 6 hours later and that all the hermans had turned up early to claim their seats in the lounge. Not only that but when they did show up in dribs and drabs they proceeded to eat and drink the relatively small lounge dry. I was talking to a couple of afrikaans proping up the bar (no seats) who were really ****ed off saying (completely non-racial) things like "f**king germans, they come here and think they own the place" (which they used to of course!) Saint_clark Posted 8 December, 2012 Share Posted 8 December, 2012 Surely for security purposes you cannot leave baggage unattended? Or is that just the sensible countries that enforce that policy?
Baldbarbarian Posted 8 December, 2012 Share Posted 8 December, 2012 Move bag off seat & sit down would be the simple solution?.
dronskisaint Posted 8 December, 2012 Share Posted 8 December, 2012 Move bag off seat & sit down would be the simple solution?. This...I'd allow a polite ten minutes and then move it telling the barman that I was concerned at left baggage, could he see to it

Weston Super Saint Posted 8 December, 2012 Share Posted 8 December, 2012 Move all the bags on to one seat and then watch the party as all Ze Germans argue over whose bag was on there first
Spudders Posted 8 December, 2012 Share Posted 8 December, 2012 Move bag off seat & sit down would be the simple solution?. Exactly this! If none of them were even there, then that makes things so much easier. Anyone who stands up wishing they could sit down when there's no-one about but a load of seats with bags on deserves to be stood up. Grow some balls and sit yourself down FFS

dubai_phil Posted 9 December, 2012 Share Posted 9 December, 2012 Move bag. Sit down. If one turns up stare at them with a blank look and say Oh Really? Carry on eating and drinking. They start going off on one, say whatever, why don't you go ask security to come and I will explain about your unattended luggage. Stop being such a wimpey Brit. What they do is impolite so do it back to them. Trust me if you were a traveller of S E Asian extraction, you'd just sit ON their bag. Oh and why did you not come in last night so you could watch the game with us all!?! Anyway WTF you on about - you were in SA. NOBODY leaves anything laying around in an SA airport. Christ they can smell valuables in a bag from 100 metres away. Just tell the Germans - What bag? You did WHAT? in South Africa? No wonder the Greeks have conned you out of your pensions.....
