The pre apocalypse countdown thread

Erm Spud, please answer my post above about if this is all crap

Ah this one….

If this all goes wrong and jack sh*t happens, what then? this will be probably the biggest let down in my life. I am quite looking forward to it now thanks to Spuddie and feel I will have nothing to concentrate on?

Sorry Jillyanne, I kind of avoided wanting to even think about this scenario as I’ll also be pretty disappointed if nothing happens, I’ve been looking forward to potential death to all mankind.

I guess I could start a post apocalypse count up thread and we could count the days that have passed since nothing happened, but the thought of doing that every day forever more also makes me think about death as well.

I was surprised to hear you say that this would be your biggest let down Jillyanne, only a lot of woman moan about men being a let down, so maybe if you’re not already married you could start dating, you’d soon get more let downs to take away the pain of this let down?

Other than that I’m out of ideas at the moment, maybe you could start a new thread asking for suggestions of what else we could focus on?

Edit - Hang on a minute, I've just found out Croatia are set to join the EU in July 2013 so that's something to look forward to huh! Also Australia is set to withdraw its troops from Afghanistan in 2013 so another significant world event!

Torygraph

Dec 21, 2012 sees the end of the 13th and final baktun in the 5,125-year Maya Long Calendar and, according to some, the world will end at 11.12am GMT, the time of the summer Solstice. That will be just before sunrise in Tikal. Those in the UK will have time for breakfast.

If the Mayans were so clever at predicting the future, Why are there no Mayans?

Woohoo it’s apocalypse eve!!!!

You should now have a plan in place and be ready (both mentally and physically) to escape, run, fight or die. Today is apocalypse eve, you should be spending today at work (unless you are jobless) feeling excited and trying not to do any work.

If you have a decent boss they should let you have this afternoon off work for some apocalypse eve beers. If they don’t you may as well call them a cu nt and get down the pub anyway, it’s not like you’d have to go back into work Monday morning all sheepish and apologise as nothing’s happened huh!

This evening get home, watch a film and get an early night, you’ve got a big day ahead of you tomorrow. I’m surprised that there are no disaster films on tv tonight, such as ‘The day after tomorrow’ ‘2012’ ‘Armageddon’ or ‘Deep Impact’. If you want some alien invasion filmage ‘Independence Day’ is on sky tonight, but then again that film is always on sky!

Enjoy your last full day alive x

Worth pointing out they did actually predict the end of their own civilization at the hands of a "white devil from the sea", and then the Spanish conquistadors came and wiped them out. ;)

Half an hour since your question to Australia and no response, I'd say that's conclusive, they're all dead.

perhaps not, I think there's a specific time attached to this "apocalypse" as well, it's a very precise event. When I looked at

the Sydney newspapers they had a very precise countdown. It's 21-12-12 at 11.11 mayan time (whatever that may be) So no slow zombified ending and dog rogering, just stops at 11.11 so that would be about what 5.11 pm in the UK ?

Ah no it's 11.11 am UK time nt mayan time.

I just had a quick look on sky news and many parts of the uk are starting to flood as well!

like that's a special occurrence. Too much building and not enough water-course maintainance is what brought you there; The European Commission keep on telling the Gov about it, still a buck is a buck and the UK never has any spare or so they keep telling us.

Well it is almost seven and a half hours into Friday the 21st here and SO FAR all appears ok - well apart from the light rain.

no it's 11.11 hrs GMT tomorrow, here one minute gone the next sort of thingy. Anyone versed enough in all this bolix to know exactly where 11.11 GMT comes from ?? Or did it just look good like some Dan Brown novel scenario.

Oh FFS it is NOT rocket science.

Mayan Calendar.

Summer Solstice in Southern Hemisphere.

Time and date at their main (it was in Star Wars so it is going to happen) Temple City.

11:12 GMT. Just about my 6th pint at Brunch tomorrow.

I can now confirm that the end of the world IS happening. OSN (our local Satellite provider) have decided to show the XFactor USA finale at 05:00 so that we can go to fight Zombies safe in the knowledge that

1) The future of Country Music is in safehands with Tate Stephens OR

2) The Yanks found their own Spice Girls with singing ability (right at the end) OR

3) THE most insanely talented 13 year old girl on the planet EVER will make Aretha/Beyonce/Witney/Rihanna sound like Karaoke singers.

No wonder Simon Cowell has had a smug grin the last two weeks, not just because he's boning Carmen Elektra either

I woke up with a head ache - is this a sign?

Yes.

You're going to have a nasty dose of Flu for Christmas.

HTH.

OK update from here, found the Ibuprofen and they are now kicking in. My fault for going to a Let's Party like it's the End of the World event last night.

Now off to An End of The World Brunch 99 Dirhams (about 18 quid for 5 pints and all you can eat for 6 hours) I reckon that'll keep me fuelled up for 24 hours running from Zombies.

Gotta say I'm beginning to doubt that this prophecy is anything to do with the Mayans at all. Think it was just dreamt up by some Marketing genius at Diageo to sell more booze in the run up to Chrimble
