Saint Charlie Posted 7 December, 2012 Posted 7 December, 2012 (edited) For me its either: "I love his bones" (said re Lallana) or "A player can also be under-aroused" (used in the pre match presser yesterday) or anything where he adds "about himself" or "about ourselves" at the end ie "We have a consistency about ourselves" Also post a good pic of NA if you want to - he has lots of different expression! Dig Dig Posted 7 December, 2012 Posted 7 December, 2012 (edited) "we are taking the players away for a different stimulus this week" Edited 7 December, 2012 by Dig Dig

Saint Charlie Posted 7 December, 2012 Author Posted 7 December, 2012 i caught myself saying "about ourselves" refering to our business for the first time ever last week. Ive been on a trial seperation from Nigel interviews ever since Haha - he says it all the time. When I was researching for my Jonno Quick thread I was drawn to this comment: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/9382981.stm "He's got a good physical presence about himself and we're delighted that he can come and join us." Nigel Adkins, Jan 2011 (he has a consistency about himself)
Big Bad Bob Posted 7 December, 2012 Posted 7 December, 2012 "Its a consistency that you aim for; I think if you remain consistent, and you've been successful with being consistent, then that consistency will get you through to remain being successful.
pingwing Posted 7 December, 2012 Posted 7 December, 2012 "together as one, we will keep learning and striving forwards because we are together as one"
tajjuk Posted 7 December, 2012 Posted 7 December, 2012 I like how he seems to refer to the club as "in the building"
Dig Dig Posted 7 December, 2012 Posted 7 December, 2012 "we’re in the Premier League and it’s a first experience for a lot of people and maybe we’ve got to have a bit more confidence about ourselves and a bit more belief about ourselves. To not look at the name on someone’s shirt or the team sheet and just go out and do what we do"
doggface Posted 7 December, 2012 Posted 7 December, 2012 Winning mentality. not heard that enough this season : /
JustinR Posted 7 December, 2012 Posted 7 December, 2012 He used "love the bones of him" about Lambert when he dropped him. Not being pedantic or anything. I've used "to be the best that we can be" a few times when training people at work, almost without thinking
Hamilton Saint Posted 7 December, 2012 Posted 7 December, 2012 "It's all about winning games of football."

Bizarre saying.

Jonnyboy Posted 7 December, 2012 Posted 7 December, 2012 Q What would you be doing if you were not a football manager A Making love to my wife LAD! Think the question was "if not football, what would you most like to be doing on a Saturday afternoon?"
The Kraken Posted 7 December, 2012 Posted 7 December, 2012 Actually its "if you could do one thing this afternoon, what would it be". http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/15126250 #nerd
Saint Charlie Posted 7 December, 2012 Author Posted 7 December, 2012 (edited) "Look, we want to play through the thirds of the pitch, get on the football and pass the football. Thats the vision set out by the football club." On Alex Chamberlain, "We need to nuture young Alex. He has a young skeletal body and is still growing." Edited 7 December, 2012 by Saint Charlie
Badger Posted 7 December, 2012 Posted 7 December, 2012 "It's all about winning games of football." Simple as that.
Badger Posted 7 December, 2012 Posted 7 December, 2012 I like how he seems to refer to the club as "in the building" or "on the bus". Where has Sun Tzu Art of War , been for the last year ?
Toomer Posted 7 December, 2012 Posted 7 December, 2012 In the quotes stakes no one will be as good as WGS.

Saint Garrett Posted 8 December, 2012 Posted 8 December, 2012 Found myself using a few Adkinsisms last year when I had to write a piece of reflective writing for some uni work. Wrote it then when I read it back I noticed how many things I said that he would! Certainly runs off on you when you watch his interviews every week! Top man
Saint Fan CaM Posted 8 December, 2012 Posted 8 December, 2012 Control the controllables. So, so true.
Maggie May Posted 8 December, 2012 Posted 8 December, 2012 "Cannonball!!!" - before he jumped into the pool during Saints' pre-season tour this year.
david in sweden Posted 9 December, 2012 Posted 9 December, 2012 "we’re in the Premier League........QUOTE] You notice how good he is on PR for the sponsors because he always says the Barclays Premier League.....
Saint Charlie Posted 9 December, 2012 Author Posted 9 December, 2012 "Kelvin's come in and done great, he was with us in League One, Championship goalie of the year, and is a real club stalwart."
Saints Fan Dan Posted 9 December, 2012 Posted 9 December, 2012 He's a real inspiration our Nige, I have found myself using some of his Adkinisms in job interviews, this one being my favourite: "Its a consistency that you aim for; I think if you remain consistent, and you've been successful with being consistent, then that consistency will get you through to remain being successful." If in doubt just think What Would Nigel Adkins Do?
