jasoneuelllfanclub Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Julius Duncan has been appointed as a Senior Director of Communications with him commencing this role in January. Will head up the Media relations both domestically and globally. http://www.prweek.com/uk/news/1163225/southampton-football-club-hires-julius-duncan-head-comms/?
Barry Sanchez Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Dont believe it, I get slammed for perceived negative opportunistic threads about our players, purchasing in the future/speculation is perceived to be positive so seen as journalism Sopel/Adie/Thompson should be proud of, nice and even sided then.........................
jasoneuelllfanclub Posted 6 December, 2012 Author Posted 6 December, 2012 Now on OS http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/director-of-communications-appointed-528452.aspx
Barry Sanchez Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Sorry wont, dont cant believe it until it happens, dont believe in love as I cant see it nor God, nor the soul..............................
jasoneuelllfanclub Posted 6 December, 2012 Author Posted 6 December, 2012 Sorry wont, dont cant believe it until it happens, dont believe in love as I cant see it nor God, nor the soul.............................. cant workout if you are just a strange person or you have difficulties in putting together a comprehensible sentence.
Saint_clark Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Another good step. It seems to get forgotten that the "5 year plan" that was mooted at the time of Cortese and Markus' arrival was encompassing the turn around of the entire club from top to bottom, including the staff, renovation of the stadium, redevelopment of the training ground AND getting back to the Prem.
Barry Sanchez Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 cant workout if you are just a strange person or you have difficulties in putting together a comprehensible sentence. Correct for both to be honest and start your sentence with a capital as we are having grammar lesson's.
Saint_clark Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Correct for both to be honest and start your sentence with a capital as we are having grammar lesson's. Grammar lesson is what?
Saint Charlie Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Good signing, we beat of European competition for Duncan, and he is a young, hungry professional. We just need to give him time to develop.
Dig Dig Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Good signing, we beat of European competition for Duncan, and he is a young, hungry professional. We just need to give him time to develop. Shouldn't we be aiming for proven ability at this level though? Can't help but to feel we are taking a huge gamble with this signing but there is no doubt potential.
charliegeorgesflymo Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Lee Peck just not cutting it then?
Turkish Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Another one with no premier league experience FFS
Saint Charlie Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Shouldn't we be aiming for proven ability at this level though? Can't help but to feel we are taking a huge gamble with this signing but there is no doubt potential. More to the point I wonder if he has a "must play" clause in his contract? Good to see that Fitzhugh now has some competition in the Duncan stakes however. Healthy competition is good for maximising performance.
Dig Dig Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 More to the point I wonder if he has a "must play" clause in his contract? Good to see that Fitzhugh now has some competition in the Duncan stakes however. Healthy competition is good for maximising performance. I'm cautious of anyone called Duncan.
shurlock Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 An interesting one. Maybe Cortese is heeding calls for greater communication and transparency; alternatively, he's hired own spin doctor/master of the black arts and, among other things, a few hush-hush curry evenings with the mods are on the cards.
Wes Tender Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Dont believe it, I get slammed for perceived negative opportunistic threads about our players, purchasing in the future/speculation is perceived to be positive so seen as journalism Sopel/Adie/Thompson should be proud of, nice and even sided then......................... Are you using some sort of code that needs deciphering? The difference between this article and your rumour mill ramblings, is that this is an article from a respected source, subsequently also reported on the OS, not something that was texted to you by a mate. Otherwise, I must confess that media relations and communications did need improvement, so a step in the right direction.
Saint Charlie Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Julius Duncan on Twitter: "Its going to be cracking working for #saintsfc"
Dig Dig Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Julius Duncan on Twitter: "Its going to be cracking working for #saintsfc" He'll be gone in 2 months
Saint Charlie Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 He'll be gone in 2 months Only on loan. Can't move permanently until the summer. Interesting the OS didn't say the length of contract.
The Kraken Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Hopefully his first action will be saying to Cortese: "You know what; we're really missing a trick not engaging properly with the local media. Let's sort that out, shall we?". Somehow I think that is rather unlikely, though.
Spudders Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Executive Chairman Nicola Cortese commented: "The appointment of a senior Director of Communications is an essential part of the ambitious plans we have for the Club and reflects our commitment to excellent communication with all stakeholders". Have they been waiting to fill this role before they even bother to attempt to communicate effectively with all stakeholders!
andyjones Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 I know Julius personally, he will do a great for SFC..
del boy Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 He could start by sorting out the web site, so we don't have to "enter"...we can just look at it Second job could be to "communicate" why the ticket office needs to charge £1.50 for every ticket bought by debit card when the payment takes place in one transaction e.g. 3 tickets in one payment = 3 x debit card fees? Thirdly he can explain our transfer policy / decision making Welcome
shurlock Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Only on loan. Can't move permanently until the summer. Interesting the OS didn't say the length of contract. With this arrival, can we ship Sibley off to the skates.
John Boy Saint Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Now on OS http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/director-of-communications-appointed-528452.aspx Blimey you got on the OS and lifted a link before slashing your wrists!! You truely have the patience of a Saint!!
Saint Charlie Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 With this arrival, can we ship Sibley off to the skates. Never really get what the problem is with him? Seems to just be doing his job?
Saint_clark Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Never really get what the problem is with him? Seems to just be doing his job? I get the feeling that some people are jealous he gets the inside scoop on everything to do with the club.
Dig Dig Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Never really get what the problem is with him? Seems to just be doing his job? Agree, not sure why he gets the stick he does.
buctootim Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 At least two prolific posters here applied for his job and didnt even get an interview. Its just the usual snipey rubbish.
The Kraken Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 At least two prolific posters here applied for his job and didnt even get an interview. Its just the usual snipey rubbish. At least two? Oooh, names, this is interesting!
Saint Charlie Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 At least two prolific posters here applied for his job and didnt even get an interview. Its just the usual snipey rubbish. Ha - that probably right!
Turkish Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 One of them was me but they said i was over qualifed and couldn't match my salary expectations.
Doctoroncall Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Shouldn't we be aiming for proven ability at this level though? Can't help but to feel we are taking a huge gamble with this signing but there is no doubt potential. But he'll be worth more because he's young and has a great potential.
The Kraken Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 One of them was me but they said i was over qualifed and couldn't match my salary expectations. Is this also the one that Romsey Stu went for?
Chez Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 At last, now someone will tell us why SFC has take out a loan with a BVI-based company.
kpturner Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Grammar lesson is what? Grammar lesson's are what? I great big whoosh for Barry there (unless he is big on irony, which I doubt).
Window Cleaner Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 At last, now someone will tell us why SFC has take out a loan with a BVI-based company. because we needed money that we didn't have. Only one reason for taking out loans.
Pugwash Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 I know Julius personally, he will do a great for SFC.. FFS, this isn't the place for ITKs! (but please can you PM me with any stunning, breaking news...)
Dig Dig Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Cheers for the PM Tim, not surprised it was those two who applied unsuccessfully! LOL!!!
red&white56 Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Grammar lesson's are what? Barry, Sorry but you lose the argument by repeating the unnecessary apostrophe! Apostrophe either show emissions or show possesion but not plurals!
Saint_clark Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Barry, Sorry but you lose the argument by repeating the unnecessary apostrophe! Apostrophe either show emissions or show possesion but not plurals! Indeed That's why I didn't even bother replying.
Window Cleaner Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Whatever I am am getting my haircut. think some form of punctuation would be necessary between "whatever and I'm" Baz experts ??
RonManager Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 think some form of punctuation would be necessary between "whatever and I'm" Baz experts ?? Or a comma between the two 'ams'. Barry may be unsure of his species, but still likes to look smart. I think that's commendable.
Wes Tender Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Watched it all the way through. He seems a very capable guy, knowledgeable in his subject and a good communicator. I'll be very interested to see what he can bring to us in terms of customer satisfaction and brand awareness.
