Nigel's Salary

Heard, from a decent source, that one of our ex players who is now Henry Redknapp's driver cum coach, is on a salary of £500k at QPR.

Apparently this is more than our Nige is paid, although there could be bonuses which may increase relative sums.

If these figures are true then I think we have a decent deal and, perhaps, further emphasises some of the silly money being spent on wages at certain clubs, especially QPR.

Harry is on £4m per annum, which will be miles more than Adkins is on, but then Harry is a proven Premier League Manager, and Adkins isn't. That saving will look like fools gold if we go down and QPR stay up though.

Apparently Harry has cancelled the player's Xmas party at QPR, should save them a few bob.

That should endear him to a group of players already with a reputation of being truculent.

He's running true to form.

He goes into a club and his first announcement is how difficult a job it will be ("We can only give it our best shot, that's all we can do), then he slags the players off.

That's great for morale as he gets his excuses in first. The players must feel really good as their manager effectively blurts out in public: "I don't give us much chance of staying up, and certainly not with this group of players, who I don't rate."

Then we have the announcement: "I'm not going to spend any of the chairman's money in January, he's already spent enough."

That's qualified a couple of days later by: "We might need to bring in a couple of loans in January."

Stand by within the next couple of weeks for that classic: "We're down to the bare bones," which will prompt a rash of signings in January, mostly his tried and trusted experienced playing lieutenants or others that agents have magicked out of thin air.

When that fails, he'll blame the chairman for not giving him enough money, and then walk away.

Sound familiar?

He kinda does. Kevin Bond lives near to Harry and they used to split the driving up to London when they were at Spurs so guess they are doing the same again now.

Actually Kevin Bond, who is now one of the QPR's coaches, lives at Chilworth (not far from Mr Cortese) and does indeed regularly chaffeur Henry R and Rosie to and from training etc.

I like Harry, he makes me laugh, but the guy is the biggest self-promoter in the history of self-promotion.

I had more chance of managing Ukraine than Harry 'come and get me I'm off to the Urals' Redknapp!!!!

If you can't see how he manipulates every situation, could we please go into business together? ;)
