Saint Garrett Posted 3 December, 2012 Share Posted 3 December, 2012 Top job from these boys on Saturday watched the whole of the first half, went down into the concourse and there were about 10 mobile beer sellers selling bottles. It meant rather than queuing for 10 minutes and having 5 to drink a beer, I got one straight away. Why can't we do this at St Mary's?!

It meant rather than queuing for 10 minutes and having 5 to drink a beer, I got one straight away. Why can't we do this at St Mary's?! Indeed. They did it at Reading away last year too; that and actually having more than 2 or 3 serving staff behind the counters. It worked a treat. The St. Mary's system is catastrophically slow in comparison; especially in the Chapel where they seem to only use the slowest, most dim-witted of staff (and often only 2 of them at any time serving). Saint Garrett Posted 3 December, 2012 Author Share Posted 3 December, 2012 I never normally get a drink at half time, but I went to the concourse and it was almost rude not to !
Spudders Posted 3 December, 2012 Share Posted 3 December, 2012 I never normally get a drink at half time, but I went to the concourse and it was almost rude not to ! Exactly, make a product difficult to purchase and people won't bother even when they want it. Make it easy to purchase and they'll spend their money when they didn't even know they wanted to spend their money. If only saints were being run to make money and become self-sufficient......oh. Pugwash Posted 3 December, 2012 Share Posted 3 December, 2012 Our concourse kiosks are abysmal. Presumably they're run on a franchise basis. Anyone know when they renew?
This Charming Man Posted 3 December, 2012 Share Posted 3 December, 2012 I thought that as well. Found it strange a football club trying to provide a decent service whilst also maximising their profits.
trousers Posted 3 December, 2012 Share Posted 3 December, 2012 If football supporters down the years were as intelligent as rugby or cricket crowds then we'd be able to enjoy a beer at our seats and thus the half-time 'problem' would cease to exist. No that would be even worse. Fans would be going back and forth throughout the game getting the beers in, spilling them all over the place every time a goal goes in. Liverpool showed on Saturday how easy it is to eradicate the "half-time problem".
pingwing Posted 3 December, 2012 Share Posted 3 December, 2012 Even the main bit was pretty swift, only had a 2 min wait to get to the front, I like having options at St Marys (Singha is always a good choice) but I just wish the people who worked there could actually pick them quickly instead of gazing slowly at the shiney colours. We should just have vending machines to speed the process up.... On the plus it was nice having the Liverpool concourse trying to sell us things

I remember them at the Elton John gig years ago at SMS and thought what a ruddy good idea they'd be in the concourse to ease the queues.
