for_heaven's_Saint Posted 5 December, 2012 Posted 5 December, 2012 If Ramirez is out it will obviously be a blow but I think Steven Davis could do a job in Gaston's place for one game. He's looked much better coming on and playing further forward in front of Cork and Morgan IMO. Think those 3 would be tenacious enough to win the midfield battle.
Saint_John Posted 5 December, 2012 Posted 5 December, 2012 I forgot how much we were on top in last season's game :- Possession - Saints 59% v reading 41%. Shots - Saints 19 v reading 6. On Target - Saints 12 v reading 4. Corners - Saints 7 v reading 2. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17637590 It looks like only Jose, Jack, Adam and Rickie will be the only 4 remaining from that starting lineup.

Graffito Posted 5 December, 2012 Posted 5 December, 2012 Let's have these f@ckers. Sorry but it's how I feel after last season. So ends my constructive contribution.
latter day saint Posted 5 December, 2012 Posted 5 December, 2012 Let's have these f@ckers. Sorry but it's how I feel after last season. So ends my constructive contribution. sums it up for me as well. no-mark noddy f*cking club
SaintRobbie Posted 5 December, 2012 Posted 5 December, 2012 State the obvious alert...big game... Ring the changes or same starting line up? w00t! That should help.
Bucks Saint Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 sums it up for me as well. no-mark noddy f*cking club This. I am way too close to them for my liking
Saint Charlie Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Jimmy Kebe is out for them which is good. Although his final ball is poor his pace always seems to worry us.
Appy Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Jimmy Kebe is out for them which is good. Although his final ball is poor his pace always seems to worry us. His ball to Roberts last year was ****ing good.
Saint Charlie Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 His ball to Roberts last year was ****ing good. It was, exception rather than the norm though with him.
Window Cleaner Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 His ball to Roberts last year was ****ing good. decent keeper would have come out and caught it, unfortunately we didn't have one, still haven't either. We gifted them that game combination of Davis and Hammond.
Rasiak-9- Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Jimmy Kebe is out for them which is good. Although his final ball is poor his pace always seems to worry us. Looks a little gangly and goofy but is actually a bloody decent winger. Pace has always worried us so him being out is useful.
Appy Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 decent keeper would have come out and caught it, unfortunately we didn't have one, still haven't either. We gifted them that game combination of Davis and Hammond. I do remember Fox with a terrible pass leading to that goal too.
itchen_dan Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 @SimonPeach: I am hearing Gaston Ramirez will be involved for #SaintsFC this weekend. Awaiting confirmation from Adkins in press conf.
Matthew Le God Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Reading have 200 of their 2,453 ticket allocation remaining... http://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/article/last-200-saints-tickets-529321.aspx

Thedelldays Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 @officialsaints: Nigel Adkins: "Playing three games in a week underlined how fit the players are. There wasn't any drop-off." #saintsfc what?????
pingwing Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 what????? Has to say it to justify his position and decision, despite the fact Norwich we didn't in the best shape and should have rotated and by Liverpool everyone looked tired.
Sour Mash Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 what????? Anyone know why we don't hear about players being "Saints Fit" anymore?
Window Cleaner Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 @officialsaints: Nigel Adkins: "Playing three games in a week underlined how fit the players are. There wasn't any drop-off." #saintsfc which is why the Sky commentator on Saturday was saying ad nauseum "Southampton look really tired" of course. Still must be a total knob who knows far less about football than Adkins and all his sports science.

Saint Charlie Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Strange one this. Southampton FC @officialsaints Nigel Adkins confirms Jonathon Forte returns to the squad for the visit of Reading to St Mary's. No new injury concerns. #saintsfc

Southampton FC @officialsaints Nigel Adkins confirms Jonathon Forte returns to the squad for the visit of Reading to St Mary's. No new injury concerns. #saintsfc scored 3 goals for Crawley so he must be good right ? Sometimes I really really wonder if our manager and his coaching staff know what they're doing.

Saint Charlie Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 scored 3 goals for Crawley so he must be good right ? Sometimes I really really wonder if our manager and his coaching staff know what they're doing. In the squad doesn't mean in the starting lineup! Might not even make the bench.
Window Cleaner Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 In the squad doesn't mean in the starting lineup! Might not even make the bench. I know that, I'd have shipped him off permanently to some distant nether world, does he actually have a squad number ?
Dig Dig Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 In the squad doesn't mean in the starting lineup! Might not even make the bench. The match day squad includes subs though. Just looked at the clubs twitter feed and can't see any reference to Forte at all.....did you make that up? Pretty bizarre if so.
The Kraken Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Strange one this. Southampton FC @officialsaints Nigel Adkins confirms Jonathon Forte returns to the squad for the visit of Reading to St Mary's. No new injury concerns. #saintsfc When he says "squad" does he mean the 17, or just the SFC squad in general? I can only pray that he means Forte is in the general squad and won't be involved on matchday. Forte's loan at Crawley was for 3 months and expired on 17th November, he hasn't played for them since. Oh God; he's going to be in the matchday squad, isn't he?!
Nexstar Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 I know that, I'd have shipped him off permanently to some distant nether world, does he actually have a squad number ? He hasn't been recalled
Scummer Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 I know that, I'd have shipped him off permanently to some distant nether world, does he actually have a squad number ? He's in our 25 man squad. He was on a 3 month loan, which has now expired. Therefore by default he's back in the squad now. I'd be very surprised if we saw him playing for the first team again.
Saint Charlie Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 (edited) He has been recalled or his loan ended - was on the bench for the U21s the other day vs Manchester Utd. Its still appearing on my twitter feed. EDIT: Just refreshed and it seems to have disappeared...very strange. Edited 6 December, 2012 by Saint Charlie
Window Cleaner Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 He hasn't been recalled he hasn't a squad number either so can't play; so why the flip is Adkins speaking about him, unless Charlie is acting the fool again.
Saint Charlie Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 he hasn't a squad number either so can't play; so why the flip is Adkins speaking about him, unless Charlie is acting the fool again. Its been removed now it seems. It didn't say he was playing, just in the squad - maybe NA hadn't realised he was ineligible? Might explain the removal.
Window Cleaner Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 I'd be very surprised if we saw him playing for the first team again. I'd be very chagrinned as well, total waste of time, space and money.
Saint Charlie Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 I'd be very chagrinned as well, total waste of time, space and money. Of course he won't play for the first team - he is utter rubbish who has been totally marginalised and hasn't even got a squad number.
Saint Garrett Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 Its been removed now it seems. It didn't say he was playing, just in the squad - maybe NA hadn't realised he was ineligible? Might explain the removal. It's not been removed at all, as it was never there. I get sent each individual tweet by text from @officialsaints. Not sure what you're trying to get out of this!?

FAO Window Cleaner - don't assume NA is stupid - he knows Forte is rubbish hence why he is nowhere near our squad.

Saint Charlie Posted 6 December, 2012 Posted 6 December, 2012 You silly boy. Sorry - just funny to see a bed wetter out in force. Thought it was pretty obviously not true - basically was mocking how poor Forte is (couldnt even make the U21 team on Mon)

Thought it was pretty obviously not true - basically was mocking how poor Forte is (couldnt even make the U21 team on Mon) what you don't want to do is give me any more proof or even suspicion that NA doesn't know what he's doing. I want him gone and a really experienced manager in, no secret about that.
