Baldbarbarian Posted 30 November, 2012 Posted 30 November, 2012 Anyone else intrigued by this?, a lot of media hype surrounding the fight. I have watched the documentary he looks fairly handy but still worry for him especially in the Heavyweight division.
Dig Dig Posted 30 November, 2012 Posted 30 November, 2012 To be honest, I hope this clown floors Flintoff. It ridiculous to think that you can just become a professional boxer at 34 just on the basis that you were a good cricketer a few years ago. Flintoff barely got his BOBC license 2 weeks before the fight as they considered his technical ability to be poor. No one should be able to have a professional fight when there are concerns about ability that close to the fight. The whole notion is a joke to be honest and belittles the swathes of amatuer and professional boxers who will never get the same opportunity despite having natural boxing talent.
Baldbarbarian Posted 30 November, 2012 Author Posted 30 November, 2012 I agree with what you say about the amatuers and pros that never get the exposure that Freddie is getting in his first fight, I think it will bring in a lot of new casual boxing fans which is never a bad thing to be honest. It also adds to Frank Warrens growing boxing monopoly which is a shame (more subscribers to Boxnation), I much prefer Eddie Hearn as a promoter myself.
Barry Sanchez Posted 30 November, 2012 Posted 30 November, 2012 Flintoff looks like he has lost a lot of his natural weight, he will be far weaker as the fight goes on, I fear for him doing this boxing career this late in the day.

When's it on, this Friday or next Friday? I always thought he was a bit of a c*ck anyway, so to see him take a pasting will be hilarious.

trousers Posted 30 November, 2012 Posted 30 November, 2012 @SkyNewsBreak: Former cricketer Freddie Flintoff wins heavyweight boxing match against Richard Dawson
Hatch Posted 30 November, 2012 Posted 30 November, 2012 was ok, punching was a bit slappy. Dawson wasn't much of an opponent.
Baldbarbarian Posted 30 November, 2012 Author Posted 30 November, 2012 Dawson was pretty poor, Freddie slapping right hands and smothering his own work getting too close. I hope he doesnt fight again!.
