Have to say it was great, and hope for more entertainment from our mascot, in the states mascots do alot more and are more well known to do something silly for the fans, one of the most famous is the phillies phanatic and after seeing him dance to lady gaga i thought i would love sammy saint to do something like this, pure entertainment.

I agree, we should aim to be just like America. I also want to see the game changed to 4 quarters of 25 minutes rather than two halves and far more emphasis on offensive play. We need to have cheerleaders as well and with the entertaining mascots doing plenty in the the end zones it'll show the rest of the world what this great game of soccerball is all about.

I vote for corndogs and renaming the stadium Huckerbee Fields or something.

Dont forget about being offered beer and food in the stands so you dont have to leave your seat to watch all of this.

Why the anger?

No anger. Some are going on about how it's great publicity for the club and delighted it's on the BBC news. It is't, its not a £10m signing or talking about are academy players as the future of English soccerball. its a video of a bloke in fancy dress dancing on the pitch. Why does anyone care?

Not at all Colin. I'm just failing to understand why so many seem to be overjoyed it's on the BBC website, it's a dancing dog FFS!

A nice bit of publicity, just nice, nothing more and i've had freinds contact me saying they enjoyed it, people who don't care less about football and only made the link because they are aware of my slight obsession for Saints. It's raising the clubs profile in a harmless and mildly amusing way.

Seriously, where's the harm? And you are right, the over-reaction makes no sense.

Theres no harm in it. I just dont understand the mass celebration and backlapping that our half time mascot is on the BBC news. It was midly amusing the first time on sunday, but comments like people hoping to see more entertainment like this from our mascot are just plain wierd. It's football FFS, you want to see people dressed up as animals go to Peppa Pig world.

I was literally sat in my seat with my head in my hands whilst this atrocity was occurring on the pitch.

80% of the ground stood up, many of them fully grown adults going wild for a man wearing a dog costume dancing like a mong, clapping and cheering away like it was the best thing they've ever seen. Then as the players came back out, 3 of the stands sat back down and resumed their usual silence. Quite unbelievable, even for our embarrassing supporters.

I can't believe some of you mugs have got boners that a dancing man dressed up as a dog has made it onto the national news. Who gives a f*ck?

I know, ridiculous isn't. I've even heard from a reliable source that some people have even gone onto a football message board to moan about it.

Really? it got to you that much!! I think the booing of Guly is far more embarrassing.

God some of you guys are so f*cking uptight, it beggars belief!!

This has got to be a wind up, surely nobody can take themselves this seriously. It's a man dressed as a dog dancing like an idiot whilst half the fans were casually clapping along and occasionally laughing. The way some of you are going on about it you'd think it was like kids at a Punch and Judy Show.

Just for the record, THIS is an embarassment to football, not a dancing mascot at HT.

I have never seen so many astounded/excited adults in one place. You would've thought Mila Kunis was on the pitch waving her snatch about. People were working themselves up into a frenzy. It was almost an anti-climax for most when the players returned to the pitch, I'm surprised there wasn't a collective sigh when the 2nd half kicked off.

Truly ashamed that they are my fellow fans.

No idea where you were sat but I was near the top of block 42 and all I saw was about half the people around me clapping and a couple of laughs when he was dancing. Most of the people who were stood up for the game had sat down. Maybe you are surrounded by a more excitable crowd to me but I never saw anything close to an astounded frenzy. People got more excitable over those two horrendous misses during the round the pitch relay.

Nearly did it on Kick off but the music guy switched it off just as it was about to get into it. Quite funny light hearted entertainment!

Nearly whacked one of the Norwich players in the head before kick off whilst doing it too, bonus point for that.

I was amused, for about 2 seconds. Then he just kept going... and going... and apparently also did it at half time. Sheesh, all fours and fake peeing on the corner flag next week or the, er, dog days are over.

The real fans are drinking 3 pints of ale and eating a pie while smoking in the toilets.

The "real fans" are back in the stand watching the dancing dog mascot having left after 20 minutes to get the beers in, surely ? There's a guy near me who turns up 10 mins after kick off and bails for beers with about 10 minutes of the first half left. He's also usually on his way to the pub before the final whistle as well, I dunno why he doesn't just get a season ticket to the Alfred and spend his £500 there?

You don't seem to understand that half time is for standing up to ensure the knees don't seize for three of our stands. In the Northam I occasionally use the half-time break for a nice sit down... for the same reason. :(

The relay was funny, the dancing dog was embarrassing as was the fact people over the age of 12 were clapping along and cheering.

What a miserable bellend, it's just a bit of fun ain't it?

You shouldn't be so self conscious, i'm sure no-one will start bullying you for finding something funny, cracking a smile or clapping.

A psychologist would find a whole book here....facepalm smiley thing!

Grown men so concerned for their own self-image that they are embarrassed by a bit of entertainment ffs!

Sums up there lack of character and shows how girlie they have become.

I think you've maybe missed the point Turkish. Our halftime entertainment is about fans having fun. I reckon we have a ew returning fans and a lot of new younger ones. if they can watch good football and enjoy halftime it may get them hooked. it also made the news and is top video o. BBC sports most watched list. that will get a few more people from the local area into the ground and for me. it adds a bit of the fun family atmosphere that I remember when I started going and which has been missing inthe last 10years. no.e of these are bad things and why not be proud that are clubs put on a good laugh at halftime. ts all good entertainment after all

So I suppose all those having negative remarks have never been ****ed and acted the fool, or laughed at one of their mates dancing like a **** when p**sed, or watched a clip on You tube and found it funny. Yes it's not football, but a bit of light entertainment that makes the Nationals, where's the harm? There is too much bad stuff going on in the world to worry about people liking this bit of spotlight in the news.

They're just worried it'll harm their hard man reputation.

What a bizarre thread! We have those who saw it for what it was from the relay to Sammy, lighthearted harmless entertainment that made the majority smile. Then those who must have really sad dark lives who are amused by very little. Then of course there are those on here who just like winding up others by slagging it off and were actually enjoying it too.

I wonder how many of the Nay sayers are the same ones you saw at away games last season having poured themselves out of the pub with a few lunchtime Jaegerbombs inside them being all gobby, then once in the ground when the Mascot comes to have a look at the visitors, they stand there all big and hard giving a cuddly fluffy Mascot the middle finger telling them to F off from row 10: now that, for the uber cool who thought Wednesday night half time was embarrassing, is 100 times more cringeworthy to be associated with.
