Trouble after the Reading match

Apparently several ambulances were called to the madjedski stadium tonight to assist many Saints fans who had broad smiles stuck from ear to ear and were unable to stop smirking.

At the same time, many royals fans needed treatment after their jaws dropped so quickly they fractured upon hitting the terraces.

:D:D:D

COME ON YOU YOOFS :p

**** this is terrible, I hope it's nothing too bad and just blown out of proportion.

Isn't is strange how you can be so proud of your club 1 minute, to being totally ashamed minutes later.

Hahaha lol read the post before you say anything next time lol :smt042

Completely agree mate. Shameful. Takes the gloss off of a good win.

I don't feel like celebrating when I hear about this sort of stuff.

I am now totally convinced in my opinion that many posters do not actually read the posts that they are commenting on or perhaps the post that the comment is commenting on - if you see what I mean!!!!!

f*ckin arseholes, hope they get banned for life :(

It's times like this that I'm so glad I live 6K miles away. I'm ashamed to call myself a Saints fan tonight. Great win but marred when I read stuff like this. Sad.

I thought that initially but it gradually dawned on me that they might actually have been serious. I really hope that it is me that is red-faced in the morning.;-)

I don't think this thread should be used for point scoring against each other. The sort of comments posted on here should be kept to TMS. Our collective thoughts should be with the families of those affected by these events. I have had a broken jaw before and I can assure you it is not much fun.

Best wishes to everyone involved.

FFS guys let me explain something here .......

On a wave of jubilation after an amazing victory yesterday I posted the original post in a very tongue in cheek manner.

To my knowledge no ambulances were called and no-ones jaw was broken !

I mean come on, to call an ambulance because someone cant stop smiling

And for someone to be so shocked that their mouth gapes open low enough to hit the ground

Everyone has a different taste in humour I know but surely people cant really read my post and consider it serious ... can they .....

ps ...... and when i say ' come on you yoofs ' at the end I refer to our young team not the gobby shyster element in our fan base !!!

You earn the "Dogs ********" award for the best post on here for a long time, shame more are quick to jump on us without reading serious loss of humour on this board

It's alright for you lot, you have the NHS to take care of these horrific injuries.

EricofArabia & myself are stuck out here with ludicrous limited cover medical insurance which simply does not cover these types of injury.

It's just taken me 30 minutes of begging to my bank to allow me to put the cost of corrective surgery onto my credit card, (which of course took it over the limit)

At least now I didn't have to walk in through my front door sideways because of the insane grin, but I am worried about EoA, I believe he sustained severe damage to his lap and and lower back in the ensuing melee after the game. Not sure about the prognosis for Mrs EoA though, sounds bad.

Dangerous times indeed to be a Saints fan in a foreign land without the back up of the NHS.

I'm not sure what shocks me more, the original comments about the Chelsea smiles and broken jaws dished out, or the flippant nature of some of the comments that followed. Some people really need to take a long hard look at themselves. I would say I had a truly fantastic day out yesterday - great atmosphere, attractive football, friendly banter with the Reading fans. When I read about trouble like this it really takes the shine off the day. I was going to put this into my top 5 list of away games, but sadly now it drops right down to number 7. Why can't some people keep control of themselves after a bit of alcohol and a well deserved win. I've long been a proponent of Beer Licenses for fans - you can only drink once you have passed the strict tests and they can be revoked at any trouble - and todays news has solidified this in my mind.

I only hope and pray lessons have been learnt.

I think we really should be ashamed of ourselves, how dare people who call themselves Saints fans perpetrate such heinous acts. You make me sick, especially all of this glorification of the events that followed the match, calling them a 'joke' and laughing them off. There is nothing funny about violence ffs. I feel ashamed to be a Saints fan today.
