After being at the game tonight as I am a ST Holder in the Northam with my mate who I go with and that I would like to see how other Saints fans can look at this result as I see it in my view as yes we should have beaten Norwich tonight after coming in from a convincing 2-0 win v Newcastle which could have been 4/5-0 at least as we were at Home and that it is 2 points dropped or we can look at it that in the long run that it is a point gained come May But We'l See...!!!

Bring On Liverpool next...!!!

Thoughts!?!

Thanks!

COYR!!! :D

We wuz robbed by (a) rubbish Ref (b) daft defensive challenge by Clyne (who was miles out of position), © basic goalkeeping error, (d) Norwich side that was well drilled to stop us playing and nick a point. Plus we did not pressure their keeper anywhere near as much as we should have done - he was there for the taking.

Having said that, how Norwich managed to beat Man Utd I don't have a clue. They seem to lead a charmed existence at the moment.

I don't think we played that well last night as a team - some individuals played well, e.g. Shaw, but we kept making errors. i lost count of the number of flick-ons from rickie that went to no-one or to a Norwich player as no-one was looking for them.

A draw was a fair result, but overall i though saints looked a bit tired and uniterested.

I think it would have been unfair for either team to have won, it was a shame to drop two points but fair to both teams. Nice to see Clattenburg get a good reception as well
Clattenburg was determined not to be contentious, but failed. He was poor IMO

Missed oppurtunity.

They were set up for a point, but at 1-0 down would have had to open up a bit. This would have allowed more room for our front 4 to play like they did against Newcastle. I honestly think had we gone in to HT 1-0 up, we'd have gone on and won 2 or 3-0.

Second half they were the better side. But that's Wigan, Swansea and Norwich gone with a grand total of 2 points. Just not good enough. Reading and Sunderland are must wins because of that.

All hail the sun bed king,

Hallowed by thy Nige,

Poor substitution or lackof for ever and ever,

Give us to say the transfer window was ****e,

Dont lead us into the Championship,

And deliver us from Yoshida,Fonte,Hooiveld,Fox,Guly and Gazzaniga

For the Dell in thine kingdom,

For ever and ever a Saint.

He was ironically applauded about five times, there were chants or 'racist' and 'the referee's a racists' and came out of the tunnel for the second half to 'you dont know what youre doing'? Hardly a good reception?

In terms of Saints we just looked tired, the intensity we played at for 90 minutes v Newcastle took its toll

What if we lost on sunday and won today?? Would everyone be going "fair results season starts here"?

Arrogance is why we felt we should have won, when Norwich are unbeaten in 7 now including wins against Arsenal and United! They are by far the best kick and rush team in this league, the Stoke of east Anglia. Newcastle are a mess in comparison, another kick and rush team with no players to do it.

Then again we should have won because we had enough chances, but what can you do against 6 at the back? Just hope Liverpool try and play like they have done all year, got a much better chance of beating them if they are quite open and forward pressing.

4 games 8 points = 2 points a game which is was the target last season and easily safety in this league.

At the end of September if someone had told us that we would have a run in November of being unbeaten in 4 games most on here would have taken that with a big stupid grin on their faces. Tonight we came up against a team unbeaten in 8 games so on our season starting form 3 points bagged was probably the thought in the Norwich dressing room at 20 to 8 last night.

4 games 8 points for 2 points a game is all well and good provided that's not "complemented" by a lack of points in the other 34 games. If we draw or lose too many home games we'll still be in trouble, though I'm happy to say that the 7 points from 4 games MINIMUM target I set was just about exceeded.

To be honest as we're still in the bottom 3 even AFTER that run, we need to get at least 10 points from Liverpool, Reading, Sunderland, Fulham and Stoke and even then we're going to be in amongst the bottom sides with the likes of Arsenal, Man City and Man U coming around again.

Unless we start putting together some genuinely excellent performances in the period up to March we're still going to be in the bottom 3 then. The good news is that then we get another run of slightly "easier" games again - we have to be in with a chance of safety at the start of March.

Clattenburg was determined not to be contentious, but failed. He was poor IMO

He was frankly abysmal, we've had two in a row with the inept Atkinson on Sunday as well. In no parallel universe are two handed shoves in the back NOT fouls, and God only knows how he thought Lambert shoved the defender who piled over the top of him for one free-kick decision, Lambert was facing the other way !

I also have my doubts about Clyne's tackle being a foul from which they scored the free kick, he may have jarred his foot into the ground as he did it, but clearly moved the ball 10 yards in the direction he was tackling and the attacker kicked his (ball-winning) boot.

As for the linesman not flagging for a corner with Bunn catching the ball in the middle of his body with two feet off the pitch, and in the second half (same bloke?) flagging for Puncheon's cross which barely touched the line and passed through the six yard box "bending off the pitch", God help us.

Much "not a racist, just a crap ref" banter was missed last night.

I was amused by the obvious massive deliberate celebratory over-reaction to our free-kicks when shown on MotD, it looked most out of place after the "nice reception for the ref" comments seconds earlier, and any half-knowledgeable fan would have worked out he wasn't giving us anything from that alone.

2 more points dropped. Won't get anything other than a drubbing at Liverpool. I can see them getting at least 4.

I don't get this sort of reaction. This is not the old Liverpool. Have you seen them this season? They are very poor, only Suarez is keeping them ticking over, shame he was not booked last night. The problem I see is that we looked jaded last night, I think 3 games in 6 days is going to be a major factor, shame really because i think otherwise we would have a decent shout of a point against a very poor Liverpool side. Still don't think we'll get tonked, 1-0 maybe realistic, but we'll see.
