Colinjb Posted 28 November, 2012 Posted 28 November, 2012 Sticky please mods? Shaw for me, worked tirelessly, getting fitter and sharper with every game.
Jimmy_D Posted 28 November, 2012 Posted 28 November, 2012 Shaw. Kept Snodgrass in his pocket the entire game.
Saint Martini Posted 28 November, 2012 Posted 28 November, 2012 Shaw How he, as a 17-year-old, just pushed Snodgrass off the ball several times was impressive.
pimpin4rizeal Posted 28 November, 2012 Posted 28 November, 2012 Ive voted for fonte another solid performance from him. Cork played quite well too but we didnt turn it on like we did sunday
itchen_dan Posted 28 November, 2012 Posted 28 November, 2012 Shaw for sure. Different class. Didn't really put a foot wrong. Once he gets fully fit and up to speed, I honestly can't see him being here after the end of the season. For a 17 year old, his composure and quality on the ball is incredible. Very very good player on our hands here.
madruss Posted 28 November, 2012 Posted 28 November, 2012 Fonte for me. Actually looked like a premier league defender today
St Marco Posted 28 November, 2012 Posted 28 November, 2012 Gave it to Shaw. He did fantastic today. I Think we have another gem on our hands. He used his head with decisions and didn't make rash or stupid tackles. Stayed on his feet and used his strength. The rest did ok in patches but he really stood out today. Well done to the lad.
S-Clarke Posted 28 November, 2012 Posted 28 November, 2012 Shaw had a v good one, but Fonte was excellent as well. He's really marshaling the back 4 at the moment and is leading from the back. Good to see some proper organization for a change! Shaw is damn impressive for a 17 year old though.
pimpin4rizeal Posted 28 November, 2012 Posted 28 November, 2012 I thought shaw was going to be a gareth bale type fullback. But to me he looks a more sensible defend first type of player. He does look solid though I think with our defense already being shaky the way shaws playing has really helped us to be more solid as a team
JustMike Posted 28 November, 2012 Posted 28 November, 2012 Fonte for me too. Closely followed by Shaw
The Cat Posted 28 November, 2012 Posted 28 November, 2012 Shaw and Fonte were excellent but I voted Fonte because he took that shot in the face and it made me laugh.
Roger Posted 28 November, 2012 Posted 28 November, 2012 Lambert was beet good today. Who voted for cork had poor game.
sammysaint Posted 28 November, 2012 Posted 28 November, 2012 Fonte anyone with a footballing brain would know he was our best player and has been our best defender last 2 games, Shaw was 2nd and if you can have a 3rd it was Cork.
Reynoldson!! Posted 28 November, 2012 Posted 28 November, 2012 Lambert was beet good today. Who voted for cork had poor game. that's incorrect
S-Clarke Posted 28 November, 2012 Posted 28 November, 2012 Lambert was beet good today. Who voted for cork had poor game. Out of the midfield pair, I'd say it was Morgan who was more below-par. Cork still had more energy, which surprised me. Morgan just seemed a little behind play at times and kept backing out of challenges.
John Boy Saint Posted 28 November, 2012 Posted 28 November, 2012 Luke Shaw in a league of his own tonight.
SNSUN Posted 29 November, 2012 Posted 29 November, 2012 Performances that stood out for me were Clyne, Shaw, Fonte and Punch. Shaw edges it from Punch, both were very good but Shaw is 17. 17. He's fricking 17.
thorpie the sinner Posted 29 November, 2012 Posted 29 November, 2012 Luke shaw by an absolute country mile! Faultless performance, such maturity for a 17 yr old, positioning superb all night!
Ziggy Posted 29 November, 2012 Posted 29 November, 2012 Shaw was superb but I have gone for Fonte. He has improved exponentionally this season.
Lazlo78 Posted 29 November, 2012 Posted 29 November, 2012 Wenger's reaction to Shaw's performance last night:
Suomi Saint Posted 29 November, 2012 Posted 29 November, 2012 Luke Shaw for me. He has made a massive difference to the defence, as his positioning is absolutely superb. Gone are the wide open spaces down the left side which Fox used to leave for the opposition to gallop into.
trousers Posted 29 November, 2012 Posted 29 November, 2012 Just been reading the match reports in various newspapers. Not one highlights Shaw's performance. The Sun even gives him a mediocre 6/10. Are we bigging up Shaw's performance because we're biased or were the journos half asleep (or distracted by the Clattenburg roadshow more like)? The papers would normally be raving about such an accomplished premier league performance by a 17 year old.
pingwing Posted 29 November, 2012 Posted 29 November, 2012 Mark Bunn, was the difference between us scoring one and scoring 10. But actually Shaw, though just before he came off he scythed down some idiot in the box and was lucky the linesman on our side was so utterly cack that he couldn't actually see the biggest penalty of the year...
The9 Posted 29 November, 2012 Posted 29 November, 2012 Lambert was beet good today. Who voted for cork had poor game. Funnily enough I voted for Cork. Shaw was also decent. Lambert was alright as well, good to see him scoring a few utterly shoite goals, his long range shots were getting tedious. .

BBC Online and Skysports variously described us as "lucky" and didn't mention any of our players, so...

Lambert was alright as well, good to see him scoring a few utterly shoite goals, his long range shots were getting tedious. . What like his effort that hit the bar vs Newcastle? He also didn't shoot last night from free kick instead proving he is a team player by playing it to Fonte. You just couldn't resist having a dig. You really are a complete cretin.

That wasn't a goal, Roger. I don't even know what point you're trying to make here, and it's not because *I'm* a cretin.

Well constantly having a pop Arthur main reason we are in premier league as Adkins said. In the premier league rickie has scored 6 in 13 despite being on bench and subbed for some of them. And of course sharp has started more than lambert hadn't he? You are completely clueless and need to bore off.
Dimond Geezer Posted 29 November, 2012 Posted 29 November, 2012 As Sammy The Saint isn't on the list, I'll go with Shaw, not sure how good his dancing is, but he was quality last night.
SNSUN Posted 29 November, 2012 Posted 29 November, 2012 The Norwich Eastern Daily Press (the in-laws treat as though it's the bible) said that Lallana was not only our best player, but the best player on the pitch. He got the only 8/10. I thought he has some nice moments last night, but I've seen him play better.
