Tonights games.

Just did a quick butchers of the forums of the teams in action tonight. Have to say the Mackem forum is very entertaining. Came across this thread on Saints v Newcastle. Extremely entertaining and some nice comments in there about us too http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=744287

Particularly enjoyed this gem

This, but they'd probably end up beating us as we'd just sit back and barely attack.

One thing you can say from the start of the season, Villa and Reading have looked complete dross most weeks. Very little flair, very little technical ability and very little quality.

Our front 4 will cause anyone trouble, that's been proven in every single game this year. Our main achilles heal has obviously been our defending, but you can't argue with the quality we've shown over the course of the season in the final third. On tonights showing, we're at a different level to these 2 sides in that respect.

I was wondering if the midield has been improved as well as our defence.

Always good to read fans of other teams saying good things about us, especially those thinking we'll finish above them, but my favourite quote was:

Southampton are ****ed now, here comes Perchinho

It struck me too that that was a strange substitution, especially as it was us that wanted to run the clock down at that stage.

We got relegated in May 2005. Here is the Premiership table in 2004 after the same number of games as of today. Identical number of points and another 3 games before Harry took over. We're still very much in it and as for QPR it will be a miracle if he keeps the up

Only one away win that year too. Surely we'll do better than that this season?

Norwich have got better form over the past six games than anybody outside the top three (three wins, three draws). End of season I think we'll be near mid table but wouldnt be disappointed with just a draw tomorrow.

I would. We should be full of confidence at home and Norwich suit our style, always have - how many 4-3, 5-4 games have we had, incidentally...!

Keep it tight and play our football and we are good enough to beat any team in this division - we already proved that! The only reason we are not top is kamikaze defending from the 1978 Schoolboy Mistakes Annual...!!

It didn't really make any difference who he brought on in the 2nd minute of 4 minutes added on with the score at 2-0 and their confidence shot to pieces, to be honest. Pardew had said when Nile Ranger had his most recent brush with the law that he wouldn't play for the club again but he was forced to stick him on the bench to make up the numbers, he was never likely to actually stick him on the pitch. Taylor got injured so he had to put *someone* on.
