trousers Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 @BroadcastMoose: Bent to Lpool-most likely I'd say,Spurs cant see it after 1st spell there, QPR Harry said his wife was better when he had him at Spurs so no
cellone Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 Was thinking the same, we look so much better and fluid than both of them. You can add the Macams to that
Saint Without a Halo Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 'Arry will sign him in January. An aptly named signing for him too!
Saint Garrett Posted 27 November, 2012 Author Posted 27 November, 2012 Zero passion coming from the stands at Villa Park either. it's silence...
Olallana Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 ´Arry doing his magic switching GK... Well judging by tonight, it is frekkin impossible that we are worse than these 4 teams and if that day comes that we are, we truely dont deserve to stay up.... Put your kids in front of these games if you have trouble getting them to fall asleep....
Saints foreva Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 Zero passion coming from the stands at Villa Park either. it's silence... Their fans were quick to point out our empty seats when we smashed them earlier in the season.
S-Clarke Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 One thing you can say from the start of the season, Villa and Reading have looked complete dross most weeks. Very little flair, very little technical ability and very little quality. Our front 4 will cause anyone trouble, that's been proven in every single game this year. Our main achilles heal has obviously been our defending, but you can't argue with the quality we've shown over the course of the season in the final third. On tonights showing, we're at a different level to these 2 sides in that respect.
CanadaSaint Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 Jesus, our individual skill and team chemistry are on a different planet compared to this lot. People kept banging on endlessly about the goals we were conceding, and justifiably so, but we'll never have a problem finding the opposition goal. And defensive woes tend to be easier to sort than a completely punchless offence. Based on that, I'd be amazed if we were bottom four at the end of the season. Touch wood.
SNSUN Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 0-0, 0-0. Snore. We're better than these four surely? Perhaps Sunderland will be OK, but I maintain we have an upper mid-table attack. I rate Lambert as a manager but at Villa he has signed a lot of untested lower leaguers. Reading have spirit but not quality. And QPR? Well who knows what the hell is happening in Shepherd's Bush.
Tokyo-Saint Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 How many Reading goals last season came as a result of ian harte's delivery or the phase of play after his delivery? They seem to be struggling to create without him.
S-Clarke Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 The quality of this game just beggars belief.
Saint Garrett Posted 27 November, 2012 Author Posted 27 November, 2012 Surprised Ireland and Albrighton didn't start. Ireland was by far their best player vs is.
S-Clarke Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 Surprised Ireland and Albrighton didn't start. Ireland was by far their best player vs is. Game changed when he was taken off at H/T. But I think we'd have blitzed passed them anyway based on our 2nd half.
S-Clarke Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 0-0, 0-0. Snore. We're better than these four surely? Perhaps Sunderland will be OK, but I maintain we have an upper mid-table attack. I think Villa have decent players in there, but I just don't know what Reading are about. I just can't see any ability in their team what so ever, just zilch. (Not just basing it on this game, seen a few of their games this year) They're more likely to do a Derby than anyone else.
suewhistle Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 Thought I'd have a brief look at the AV-Rdg stream. You're not wrong, it's absolutely dire..
CanadaSaint Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 Watching two teams packed with "established PL players", I'm quite happy with the way we're trying to do things.
Saint Scott Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 Benteke. Really could of done with this one being 0-0 too
S-Clarke Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 Villa lead, probably slightly deserved on the pattern of play. Reading are dire though, awful side. Will be long gone by February.
Saint Garrett Posted 27 November, 2012 Author Posted 27 November, 2012 'Christian Benteke, he scores when he wants.' Apparently. However he hasn't got many has he?!?
DG Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 Come on Reading, for my draw double bet, don't screw me.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 Full time: Sunderland 0 QPR 0 Good result for us (saints, not trousers n glasgow)
S-Clarke Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 'Christian Benteke, he scores when he wants.' Apparently. However he hasn't got many has he?!? He is their leading scorer, I believe. Might be wrong though
Saint Scott Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 This game suddenly got interesting. I was starting to fall asleep. Can see Reading being caught on the break though.
rshephard3 Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 Massive result for Villa. Reading lack quality, I'd bet they'll finish bottom this season.
CanadaSaint Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 Regardless of the results, the dire spectator 'experience' and the fact that we're back in a relegation place, I feel much better for having watched those teams.
Lighthouse Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 I'll take that. Looks like 4 sh*t performances from those results, Villa and Reading certainly were. Win tomorrow and we could go 15th if Wigan lose. 14th with a big win and a loss for the barcodes.
monosaint Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 Villa and Reading both huffed and puffed in my view. Poor quality game.
Colinjb Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 Stay in touch for January, increase our strength in depth and we must surely have enough to survive in this league on the basis of that shower!!
fromdayone Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 Big win tomorrow could see us 14th COYR!!
trousers Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 Big win tomorrow could see us 14th COYR!! Only 5 places below my pre-season prediction....COYR!!
MOSaint Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 'Christian Benteke, he scores when he wants.' Apparently. However he hasn't got many has he?!? That was his third this season.
SNSUN Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 More importantly, perhaps most importnatly psychologically for us, a win tomorrow and Reading and QPR would be cut adrift at the bottom of the table. Even a draw would push us three clear of Reading. Good times.
CanadaSaint Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 I'll take that. Looks like 4 sh*t performances from those results, Villa and Reading certainly were. Win tomorrow and we could go 15th if Wigan lose. 14th with a big win and a loss for the barcodes. Those four teams playing tonight looked very much like us during our years of struggle (Le Tiss apart). We look nothing like we did in those days. Far more quality and cohesion.
the saint in winchester Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 Big win tomorrow could see us 14th COYR!! You took the words right out of my mouth. It must have been ... well, maybe not. (One for Meat Loaf fans, or those of us over 40! ) I can see both Wigan (v Man City) and Newcastle (v Stoke) getting nowt tomorrow. So if we can crack off a 3-0 win, as my learned colleague suggests, we ride a huge wave up to near mid-table. Woo hoo!
Legod Third Coming Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 Let's just win our games and not get carried away. 1-0 off someone's arse and three points will be fine!
Nigel=God-Poyet=Sod Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 A win tomorrow would see us pull away from Reading and Sunderland, considering they are playing so poorly, will be in deep trouble. O'Neill will probably get sacked soon as will McDermott I think because neither have the argument that they were 'playing well' and not getting results. We have always created chances. They haven't. Tonight has given me lots of confidence about us staying up.
Thedelldays Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 Win tomorrow and the bottom 2 look a little further.
SNSUN Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 Let's just win our games and not get carried away. 1-0 off someone's arse and three points will be fine! +1. I would also take 17th place at the end of the season if you offered it.
buctootim Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 Norwich have got better form over the past six games than anybody outside the top three (three wins, three draws). End of season I think we'll be near mid table but wouldnt be disappointed with just a draw tomorrow.
saints_is_the_south Posted 27 November, 2012 Posted 27 November, 2012 Tonight has given me lots of confidence about us staying up. Same here. Reading were total dross, and Villa not much better. Sounds like it was the same at the Stadium of Light too. With a fully fit squad and the attacking flair that we posses I would like to think that we are better than all 4, we've already proved it against 2 of them. Don't want to get too carried away though, I expect tomorrow's game to be very tough and we'll have to work had for the 3 points. Get them and I think we'll be 14th (expect Newcastle and Wigan to lose by 2+ tomorrow).
