Gaston vs oxlade chamberlain

Listening to the commentary of the Bradford vs Arsenal game last night, Oxo came on as sub in the 69th minute and didn't do much more than pass to Bradford players. He did at least score a penalty in the shoot out.

On what i heard last night it has to be Gaston.

To be fair when I watched last night, Arsenal were pretty terrible all round. I think Alex was one of their better players when he came on - at least he was pretty much the only hassling and chasing lost balls.

Agree with the above point from Crab Lungs; had him and Theo been with Sir Alex, they'd be different players on another level.

But they're not and they've gone. I think we've got a better player, at the moment, in Gaston - but time will tell.

If you'd asked me this before lallana got injured I would have said Gaston. If lallana is out then Oxo to cover the left wing.

Potentially I think that oxo actually has a bit more. He has pace and dribbling quality which I'm not sure Gaston has.

Two things are certain. They're both fine players, but Gaston will have a team built around him and will develop so much better here than oxo will there.

Couple of things - I disagree that Theo hasn't progressed at Arsenal. If Arsenal are mental enough to sell him every big club in Europe will be interested, he performs well in Europe, is a starter for England (when fit) and his assists went a long way towards helping RVP get the golden boot last season and his finishing has improved massively. I admire Arsenal's prudish approach to finances but Theo clearly wants to stay and he's definitely worth £80k a week.

As for Ox, I genuinely wasn't bothered when we sold him. Some nutters on here were comparing him to Theo and saying he was the better player at the same age, forgetting Theo was our best player by a mile at 16 and was scaring Championship defenders every time he played. Ox had done pretty well against League 1 defenders but I didn't think he stood out as clearly as Theo (in a lower division). Personally I'd rather have Gaston based on what I've seen this season and what I saw at Bologna last season. Time will tell though.

It's not really a case of being mental enough to sell him, it's a question of the player accepting a new contract. I presume that's got something to do with pay and playing position. If he doesn't want to sign then there's nothing that the Arse can do about it.
