chocco boxo Posted 25 November, 2012 Posted 25 November, 2012 Having watched us play some quality football again today, I just hope Saints have a go at competing in this Season's FA Cup. I feel the club and it's supporters are at their best during a good cup run. The shambles at Leeds, hopefully will not be repeated in the FA Cup. Come on Saints playing at SMS, playing good football we "could" beat most teams, away we can counter playing this football and win games so please Southampton FC do us all proud in the FA Cup.
Colinjb Posted 25 November, 2012 Posted 25 November, 2012 I had a dream that we kicked on and reached the cup final.... Never eat brie before bedtime.
Restark19 Posted 25 November, 2012 Posted 25 November, 2012 Would like to see a decent cup run as long as It doesn't affect league form
Valesaint Posted 25 November, 2012 Posted 25 November, 2012 I agree. The FA Cup may be abused by other PL clubs but we make take it seriously. Play the best team every time. Continuity will serve us well in the PL as well. Confidence is everything.
saintchris23 Posted 25 November, 2012 Posted 25 November, 2012 Look at what has happened to Newcastle united by playing their best team in all competitions
Miltonaggro Posted 25 November, 2012 Posted 25 November, 2012 We will sign four quality players in January who won't be able to force their way into the side. This foursome can be the spine of our FA Cup winning side :-)
SaintBobby Posted 26 November, 2012 Posted 26 November, 2012 Sod it. Just stay up. Nothing else matters. Not this year, it doesn't.
notnowcato Posted 26 November, 2012 Posted 26 November, 2012 The odds are interesting... QPR 50/1, Saints 125/1 Looks a bit out of whack to me. Tempted to take some of the 125s to lay back after a round or 2.
trousers Posted 26 November, 2012 Posted 26 November, 2012 Sod it. Just stay up. Nothing else matters. Not this year, it doesn't. ^This. Give the kids and fringe players a run out in the cup.
Saint Garrett Posted 26 November, 2012 Posted 26 November, 2012 Agree we should be concentrating on staying up. But you need some luck if you're going to make progress in the cup. We're not going to play the first team in all Fa Cup games, but if we get a few good draws and suddenly you're in round 5/6. Focus should definitely go on staying up though no reason why it couldn't happen.
