- If Wigan lose by any score at home to Man City, any Saints win puts them at the very least 15th.

- If Wigan lose by any score at home to Man City + Newcastle lose away at Stoke City then Saints will be 14th as long as there is a 4 goal swing in goal difference between Saints and Newcastle.
