bender Posted 24 November, 2012 Share Posted 24 November, 2012 (edited) I remember an article on a Sunday paper that went on over 2 pages. This was in the nineties with the title "the genius who isn't good enough for England" and this pic was at the top Edited 24 November, 2012 by bender

theyin Posted 25 November, 2012 Share Posted 25 November, 2012 For some reason a girlfriend of mine at the time saw fit to buy me that shirt and the away one. I hadn't worn a football top since the Patrick Xerox days when I was a kid so you can imagine my forced grin when I opened the wrapping to find the Pony by name and nature apparel before me. However, they survived being stashed in the loft but as time went on and nostalgia sets in, I found a strange urge to pull out the top again. I had a Pompey supporting mate come stay for the weekend a while back and it seemed appropriate to decorate the spare room with the shirt on his arrival. It has its uses. Needless to say it had to be removed. I dare say I could wear it t a Melbourne Heart game one day if Becks comes down his way. They are madly into wearing colours down here. Whenever I catch a glimpse of it in the wardrobe now though, it takes me straight back to a glorious goal by MLT and that bringsa smile to my face.
