Dangermouth Posted 23 November, 2012 Share Posted 23 November, 2012 How do you think he'll do? So far he seems to have done ok at Spurs in a similar situation but then we had to suffer him. Does anyone who is genuinely ITK have any views based on what they might have heard from his time here via their sources? I'm interested to learn if people think QPR will start to do well, or if they're a sinking ship because they are one of our direct competitors. Graffito Posted 23 November, 2012 Share Posted 23 November, 2012 On the face of it he seems a good fit for them but the QPR team isn't much good. Unless he's given plenty to spend it could be the Saints scenario all over again. Relegation would be the death knell of his managerial career and then we'll just have the benefit of his insight in MoTD studio to look forward to. I hope he gets it so we can give him a warm welcome to SMS in March.

Ironically enough his last club was QPR anyway, 4 Championship matches in Jan-Feb 2010 after West Ham let him go on a free and they lost all of them, conceding 9 and only scoring 1 goal. No doubt Redknapp would have already told the chairman what money he requires and had it agreed. He didn't really do that with us as: The move was really about putting one over MM, and his stock wasn't as high as it is now. With us the players were'nt really good enough. Personally I think they've got a pretty decent side that are underperforming. In those circumstances he is the ideal man. Typical of the Twitchy **** that he's avioded Man Utd and starts with a run of winnable games.

Cabrone Posted 23 November, 2012 Share Posted 23 November, 2012 Fortunately there only need to be three slightly more muggy than us. Yes but who? QPR - with a good manager they could do well and I think Harry is a good manager. Norwich - good team ethic, will fight to the last and well capable of grabbing the points when needed. Wigan - capable of getting out of tight spots as they have demonstrated in previous seasons. Villa - IMO probably the weakest team but the manager is a good motivator. Stoke - the awkward squad, have too much about them IMO, should stay clear. Reading - recent win will have their tails up - starting on a run? Sunderland - like Stoke, I think they should clear the drop zone Dark horse - Liverpool, if Suarez stays fit then they are OK but an injury a long way from the transfer window could see them drop lots of points. Could they handle the pressure? No obvious candidates for bottom 3 IMO (Villa maybe). It's going to be a tight race.

tajjuk Posted 23 November, 2012 Share Posted 23 November, 2012 After the Utd game they have Sunderland away, Villa at home, Wigan away, Fulham at home. Chances to pick up some points with the 'new manager' boost. They still have an awful defence, and bar maybe Cesar a lot of their imports like Bosingwa, Cisse, Granero etc. looked not that bothered to me. A lot of hard work for Redknapp. I'm surprised he took it to be honest, after getting rather unfairly sacked at Spurs and almost being England manager bottom of the premier league seems a bit below him. Would think that some other jobs might be available in another month or two like say Newcastle, Liverpool maybe, even a return to spurs.

Saint J 77 Posted 23 November, 2012 Share Posted 23 November, 2012 Lets look on the bright side at least the timing is right for us for once. Normally we are the team to face the team with the new manager. It could of been worse and Harry's first game in charge could have been last Saturday if their chairman had acted a little more quickly. Then not only would they have their lift from the appointment to probably keep them up, but they would most definitely taken all 3 points on Saturday and we'd be even more glum I still believe we can stay up and thanks to last week push on from that big result and win the next couple of games.
