Viking Warrior Posted 22 November, 2012 Share Posted 22 November, 2012 Interesting turn of event Mikel charged Chelsea midfielder, Ramires Santos do Nascimento, said he heard Clattenburg tell teammate John Obi Mikel "shut up you monkey" during the October 28 match against Manchester United. The Football Association said it has "concluded its investigation into alleged misconduct by Mark Clattenburg ... No disciplinary action will follow against Mr Clattenburg." The FA statement added that it believed the complaint by Ramires had been made in good faith. Explaining their decision, the FA said Ramires' evidence was not supported by any other evidence. "Moreover it was contradicted by other witnesses and does not cross the evidential threshold required to bring a charge against Mark Clattenburg," it said. Chelsea FC said it accepted the FA's ruling. A statement said: "With regards to the Mark Clattenburg decision, the club accepts the case is now concluded and notes the FA states the allegation was made in good faith Sorry but strange terminology done in good faith . It nearly destroyed an innocent person career. Thank goodness the Referees' union Prospect, on behalf of Clattenburg, are asking Chelsea for a full apology and compensation. CB Saint Posted 22 November, 2012 Share Posted 22 November, 2012 I don't think chelsea had a choice, an employee complained of racist language being used and they are obliged to inform the fa. Apparently the individual concerned was asked three times if he was sure he had heard it correctly, and that employee said yes three times. On that basis Im not sure what else they could have done. Great news that clattenburg has been cleared, unless he awards a penalty against us the next time he refs us

Great news that clattenburg has been cleared, unless he awards a penalty against us the next time he refs us I think once the other officials came out saying they heard nothing and no one else supported the accusation then I think Chelsea should have withdrawn the complaint as the result was very predictable. CB Saint Posted 22 November, 2012 Share Posted 22 November, 2012 Probably, however, once the fa had got hold of it, they were going to follow it to the bitter end. The jt debacle will have made them particularly sensitive to any racial claim.
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd Posted 22 November, 2012 Share Posted 22 November, 2012 A mate played golf with Mike Dean last week. He asked him if he knew what was going to happen to Clattenberg and Dean said, 'Nothing, the FA are going to throw the book at Chelsea'. lol
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 23 November, 2012 Share Posted 23 November, 2012 Justice has been seen to be done and Mark Clattenburg has been declared innocent. He's still a terrible referee mind you - but a innocent terrible referee.
svetigpung Posted 23 November, 2012 Share Posted 23 November, 2012 talking about miking up the refs now and recording it all. Bloodygreat idea. Now everyone can here what abuse they get from loads of the players. I'm thinking of Rooney, Terry, Nolan, etc. Now that would make interesting listening. Viking Warrior Posted 23 November, 2012 Author Share Posted 23 November, 2012 I think Chelsea did have a choice. I think they used the clatternberg claims as a smoke screen re the bad publicity they were getting getting from the Terry/ Cole fall out
