Just thought I would share this snippet that I was told by a very good source (not coaching staff or player) who was in the dressing room after the Swansea game.

Apparantly Adkins was very angry at the players and was shouting at them for not having won the game.

In the press afterwards he was calm and saying we had played well etc (although didnt hide the disappointment of not winning).

Not a groundbreaking story but as I think some on here have wondered in the past whether NA speaks to the players like he does to the media the answer is definitely no: he can make a point when he wants to and it seemed to work, at least temporarily.

I was very angry at the players for not winning the game as well, well 9 of the players won the game, 2 threw it away.

Good, have this mental image of Adkins throwing a chair about in the dressing room, especially after that game. Should have been out of sight before they got their goal anyway.

Expect he's like me then, still pretty hacked off about it because we'd be out of the relagation zone now. Hope he fined the 2 of them a couple of K each.

If he fined for mistakes Hooiveld will be seeing a debt management company soon.

Doesn't really matter. Either way - the person was suprised how angry NA was (he had every right to be angry).

Are you going to see the Happy Mondays at the round house with him next week?

The Swansea game was very disappointing

Gazza was again poor (which he is most games)

We should have been at least 2 up before they scored but we hardly worked their reserve keeper

Isn't this Cortese's job? Turkish should know.

Cheers for snippet Saint Charlie and I think I know who gave you this info.

I think one thing this shows is that Adkins doesn't have the same persona with the players as he does with the media.

Of course, there is no way a manager can achieve 4 promotions in 6 seasons without knowing when to stick the boot in.

He may have been very angry but I don't believe for a second it would have got to Mike Bassett levels of shouting (certainly not throwing chairs!). I remember a journo asking him a few years back when we were losing at half time but won at FT if he had "thrown any tea cups", and Adkins winced and said "No, I never do that".

Hilarious how people are talking about me again, on a thread i'm not even posting on. I seem to have celebrity status on here. :smug:

Don't be rediculous Turks, no one really believes you like the happy Mondays. I can't see you sitting there in your Armarni Jeggings singing "it's gotta be a loose fit".

I wonder who is in the dressing room after the game not coaching or players............ Kit Man, Tea Lady, Nicola, Mrs Adkins, Lord Lucan... am I getting close

If true sounds like good man management. Praise in public, criticise in private. You rarely, if ever, hear Alex Ferguson slag off his players. But everyone knows he does behind closed doors.

Adkins in shouting shock. Hear quite often Adkins isn't one to be pushed around.

No really a shock but there has always been some suggestions that some players won't respect Adkins motivational pep talks. Clearly he knows how to mix it up.

He's always been ruthless with underperforming players or with players who don't fit. Fox felt it at half time vs. Villa and won't be first choice left back again.

I dont think there is anything wrong with him showing his emotions on camera, not for show for the fans but simply to be himself if he was like that in front of the players, he should be able to bollock them but if anybody from outside the club tries to he should tell them to foxtrot oscar for it not being their job.

I heard he recited extracts from Hamlet to them.

Hamlet:

To be, or not to be, that is the question:

Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer

The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,

Or to take arms against a sea of troubles

And by opposing end them. To die—to sleep,

No more; and by a sleep to say we end

The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks

That flesh is heir to: 'tis a consummation

Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep;
