Seems quite familiar, just like our Nigel Adkins has been sacked rubbish from two weeks ago.

 

A meeting between board and manager is held after poor form, a journalist tries their luck and says they've been sacked. If correct, what a scoop, if wrong.... it was something they had simply been 'told.'

Benitez probably turned them down then. No point in sacking a manager if you haven't got someone to step in within hours, especially as QPR are on paper a decent side.
