Newcastle boss Alan Pardew impressed with progress of former club Southampton

"[Adam] Lallana and [Jose] Fonte, people like that, and Kelvin [Davis], it will be nice to see those guys who are still in and around the team."

"Such are the manager's difficulties that former Southampton trainee Nile Ranger, whose well-documented off-field problems have seen him plummet from contention, has been recalled to the squad."

Tickets not yet sold out for Sunday. Surprised on two counts; firstly, that Newcastle didn't take up their full allocation (I guess Europa League travels have taken their toll, but still would have expected them to fill it). Secondly surprised Saints haven't sold out by now, at least in the regular seats. This is comparable to the Spurs game in terms of size; ok we've got 800 odd more tickets to sell but still, Spurs sold out around a couple of weeks in advance.

When does work start on the needed stadium expansion by the way?

Thing is, unless you'd seen it on here or had asked the TO yourself you wouldn't even know block 43 was on sale. The club haven't announced it anywhere.

Excuse me, but I'm a tad confused. Why does it matter if the club have. or have not told the world about Block 43. To my knowledge the game was never "sold out" so anyone wanting to go would either ring up or :scared: go to the TO and get a ticket no matter what seats were available.

Or is it that the only way people will want to go is so they can wag their finger and say nasty things at the Geordies

Whether we win or not will depend a lot on how proactive our midfielders and defenders are.

Despite the excellent result against QPR it is a fact that we lost possession too often, and too many times two or three defenders backtracked without tackling. Players need the courage to put the tackles in at these times. Clyne excepted, who was excellent last week, we must do better and not give Newcastle sight of the goal.

Anyone heard anything regarding ground conditions weatherwise? ****ing down at moment and due to continue I believe. Must be doubt over the game going ahead?

Supposedly drying out overnight and tomorrow morning with the odd shower or light rain later in the afternoon.

Nothing drainage cant handle I'm sure !

Tough game newcastle are a top 8 side a win vs them will be great, i am hoping because of there injuries its more realistic for us to win, a draw is the worse result we can get 2moro, if we lose were back to square 1 and NA is under pressure to lose his job, results went our way so lets hope we win and put pressure on teams 16th 15th and 14th.

Slightly off topic but what's club policy on using other's season tickets? Can't make the game myself but letting a mates dad use my ticket

To put this one to bed, when I renewed our season tickets, as my sons are away at uni, the ticket office suggested I have the season tickets all in my name.

You just upgrade the season ticket at the ticket office before the game - and just pay the difference. The whole point of the lights is they can see if your using an OAP or kids ticket when your an adult.

You can only do it in person on match day as they invalidate the season ticket for that game

Must be an injury to Fox, he's been rather good coming on as a sub for Shaw the last two games.

so if Shaw doesn't last the distance that would mean that Clyne will go over to the left and either Cork will drop back to RB or

Richardson will be available then. Please no Yoshi at LB at any time whatsoever, even the last 10 seconds
