swannymere Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 Both backing the manager and team but Matt suggesting that Nigel wasn't picking the team, squad or transfers. Whilst the guest journalist cast doubt on this and offered some praise for Cortese. Do you think the hordes will be out for blood?
Window Cleaner Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 More **** stirring from MLT. He really needs to get over himself.
Frank's cousin Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 ..You mean the little WUM clique desperate to convince us that we wer crap because of interference - definietley will be out because as we know as Matty was our greatest ever, he can simply get nothing wrong (not pinnacle or anything, no nothing) and his opinion will definietly not be biassed in any way because of hi ongoing spat with NC... not he will rise above it and tell it like it is as he is still in reality in the dressing room cupboard listening in as NC reads out the side and our Nige sits sheepishly on the bench
Golden Balls Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 Just what MLT has been saying in the press for a while. Nobody seemed to care that 'Cortese was picking the team' when we were winning though.
Dig Dig Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 Just what MLT has been saying in the press for a while. Nobody seemed to care that 'Cortese was picking the team' when we were winning though. He has only been saying it this season.
Puddings and Monkeys Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 Don't worry, Turdish will be here soon.
sandwichsaint Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 Lock this thread - let's not have our best weekend for ages ruined with another 10 pages of drivel.
Frank's cousin Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 Just what MLT has been saying in the press for a while. Nobody seemed to care that 'Cortese was picking the team' when we were winning though. That will be beacuse when we are winning its Nigel picking the team and tactics and when we lose it must be NC.... As with most fans, win every week and I could not give a flying feck if Doris the tea lady picks the squad and caiches ramirez - get a few injuries to key players, have defensive lapses and poor decsions as a result of a young squad's lack of experience and suddenly its NC interfering... a strange sense of deja Vu... some dont like chairman. We have to live with it I guess.
Window Cleaner Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 Just what MLT has been saying in the press for a while. Nobody seemed to care that 'Cortese was picking the team' when we were winning though. Are you sure that it's Cortese that was supposed to be "picking the team". Wasn't it said yesterday that(probably totally erroneously) that NC had told whoever was supposed to be interferring to knock it off. I presumed that meant Reed, now there's a bloke I wouldn't mind seeing out of the door.
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 Things have improved markedly since NA's supposed showdown meeting with NC. Makes me wonder whether, if there was any interference, that NA asked to be judged on his own merits, which his achievements to date deserved.

Makes me wonder whether' date=' if there was any interference, that NA asked to be judged on his own merits, which his achievements to date deserved.[/quote'] The only really unexplained difference that I've noted is that we seem to have stopped trying to shove JRod into the line up somewhere on every occasion. That and Guly's 15 of course

Makes me wonder whether' date=' if there was any interference, that NA asked to be judged on his own merits, which his achievements to date deserved.[/quote'] According to some who I know are ITK (Weston) there never was any meeting... funny how when weget Cork, Ramirez and Clyne back + Shaw is introduced, we look better... Nige could not possibly be trying things out with J Rod etc... that woudl be far too much common sense ..... must be interference
The Kraken Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 This thread is superb already!! Poor old Frank has gotten all indignant with no prompting whatsoever. Classic.
Dig Dig Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 As soon as Turkish comes on here, no one else post on the thread. Will be LOLZ!
Frank's cousin Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 This thread is superb already!! Poor old Frank has gotten all indignant with no prompting whatsoever. Classic. Nah, as sarcasm seem sto make Turkish so 'popular', thought, I'd give it whirl.
Turkish Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 Look at you all talking about me, I feel like a celebrity, it's quite cute. xxxxx
Roger Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 No way cortese is picking team. Adkins the last two weeks has gone back to what he dies best and what we do best. Play rickie the whole time, cork made a huge improvement and shaw is very good. Ramirez is class too. The shape and back 4 looks very good too. Mayukas time will come too and puncheon always had it just needed to show it.
BadgerBadger Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 As soon as Turkish comes on here, no one else post on the thread. Will be LOLZ! Wait a moment - MLT on radio giving the usual and Turkish nowhere to be seen, either Turkeys radar is offline or he is........could he be......to be continued

Maybe, as you say, the return of those players has made the difference & maybe the time away before Swansea helped too.

People can take or leave that information as they so wish. OK, couldn't remember exactly what was said and by whom. As it's you I'd give it more creedence than one of the heavy agenda mongers. Something's changed though, anyone can see that. Players look less confused for a start..

Frank's cousin Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 OK, couldn't remember exactly what was said and by whom. As it's you I'd give it more creedence than one of the heavy agenda mongers. Something's changed though, anyone can see that. Players look less confused for a start.. Yep its clear we have strated to gell a bit more... Now I am certianly no expert, happy to admit that, but I would assume that key players back from injury, a young side (youngest we have ever put out), new players, playing a 4231 this season, well it might not be beyond possibilty that its taken 10+ games to figure out the best side and for them to gell... + confidence that had taken a batering during those times we were trying to figure it out.... and well its no surprise to me that we are nt teh worst side in this division, so these last couple of games were good ones agaisnt poorer sides in which to get some confidence back.... alternatively we can all be far more interested in rumours of conspiracy and interference. Whatever floats ya boat as they say.
Turkish Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 It's all an absolute coincidence that a this has happened in the last two games.......
LGTL Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 No sign of Guly, no Rodriguez on the left, more solid formation, players playing in correct positions.... The "rumours" certainly have some mileage.
Faz Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 Ramirez fit, Cork fit, Shaw fit. That's what I call a coincidence.
shirleysfc Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 It's all an absolute coincidence that a this has happened in the last two games....... Yep, playing Swansea at home (a team that hadn't scored an away goal in the league since the the first game of the season) and QPR (a team that couldn't beat their own youth team).
Turkish Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 Yep, playing Swansea at home (a team that hadn't scored an away goal in the league since the the first game of the season) and QPR (a team that couldn't beat their own youth team). The same Swansea that won at Newcastle yesterday, yes?
Thedelldays Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 The same Swansea that won at Newcastle yesterday, yes? but had not scored an away goal since the start of the season when they played us....
Turkish Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 but had not scored an away goal since the start of the season when they played us.... And?
Thedelldays Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 And? just saying..they have been utterly poor on the road until we turned their fortunes... newcastle are on a horrible run by the way...1 win in 7 (did not know that)..definitely very beatable next week for us
Turkish Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 So you play the man and not the ball? Strange. "Heavy agenda mongers"?! Christ alive! Funny isn't it. One person says something and its given credence, someone else says exactly the same thing and they are a heavy agenda monger!
Turkish Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 No sign of Guly, no Rodriguez on the left, more solid formation, players playing in correct positions.... The "rumours" certainly have some mileage. No no no!!! This is not how mongboards work! When it's a rumour we all agree and like its definitely true, when its one that we don't like we need proof and evidence, we need a direct quote from someone saying this is the case, even if it risks their jobs, reputation etc.
dubai_phil Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 Look at you all talking about me, I feel like a celebrity, it's quite cute. xxxxx I just have so much respect for you. Some of us have to post hours of BS before we get the chance to be called attention seeking whores. You now attract attention when you haven't even posted. Dear Lord, what would this forum be like if people expressed their opinions on it eh? FWIW I am in the something was going on camp and am now in the hmm it looks like something has changed camp. Thing is I just haven't worked out whether it was all Jack COrk & Luke Shaw's faults for getting crocked or if it was Uncle Les
alpine_saint Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 He really needs to get over himself. Yep, he really is damaging his legend status.

People can take or leave that information as they so wish. Yep, I think so too. NA appears to have convincingly made the case that if he be damned, he be damned on his own terms.
The Kraken Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 I wonder where that leaves Uncle Les. His credibility must be at an all time low; particularly with Il Duce.
CB Fry Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 just saying..they have been utterly poor on the road until we turned their fortunes... newcastle are on a horrible run by the way...1 win in 7 (did not know that)..definitely very beatable next week for us We always beat Newcastle at home too. I've always had this one down as a win, and if we do suddenly we're on a proper unbeaten run!
Window Cleaner Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 I wonder where that leaves Uncle Les. His credibility must be at an all time low; particularly with Il Duce. Can't get much lower than his management record at Charlton though. Don't know what he does that we couldn't do without or why we persist with him.
shurlock Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 Basically NA is playing the same team, style and formation he played against Villa (still our biggest win this season) but now he's got Cork back from injury and Shaw has come in. If he had had a full complement of players, this would have been done a lot earlier. In addition, eith Cork back in, Davis drops to the bench pushing Guly, another versatile midfielder out.

If Cork was always supposed to be the preferred CM alongside Morgan he wouldn't have been shoved back to 18 now would he? Someone made some signings and established a pecking order, that was done before Cork got injured . I put it to you that the "transfer committee" established a preferred starting 11 and NA took a lot of time to overcome that.

pap Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 I like MLT, always have. I don't think he should shut up either. The points he raised today have been rumoured for weeks. He may not like Cortese, but no doubting his love for the team. The key issue here; as it has been since the start of the Liebherr takeover, is a complete lack of official information. No surprise that in lieu of that, the club is externally perceived as having internal problems. That's the question that the host led with, btw.
ericofarabia Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 Don't suppose anybody would like to pass on what else they discussed besides this old chestnut?
Lord Duckhunter Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 My issue isn't with Lawrie or Matt who will always give an honest opinion when asked but with the media. Whether it's Sky, Radio 5 live or Talksport it seems like everytime somebodys on to talk about Saints it's mainly Frannie, Matt or Lawrie. People who the media are well aware have issues with NC. Once in a while I would like to hear from someone else.
