chocco boxo Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 Most of us will be chilling on a Sunday, like CD after yesterdays result!
Bearsy Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 "There’s a difference between someone who can play football and someone who can play football." Still a fvvckwit I see!
adrian lord Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 No Channon or Alan Ball? Maybe they'd be on the bench.
Tokyo-Saint Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 I can't see Shearer being happy in right mid.
Bucks Saint Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 Not attacking enough for me. Interesting back four! Guess he never saw Ekelund play
Cabrone Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 That's a very strange team he's selected. Shearer right midfield? Ostenstad left midfield Benali left back above Dennis\Bale\Bridge Flowers above Shilton\Niemi Very odd.
Window Cleaner Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 That's a very strange team he's selected. Shearer right midfield? Ostenstad left midfield Benali left back above Dennis\Bale\Bridge Flowers above Shilton\Niemi Very odd. not to mention the centre backs. It's just a team from a very brief period in the main with Keegan and Paine tacked on for good measure. Any real long time supporter would know that any 2 of Watson,Nicholl and Wright need to form the central defence.
Golden Balls Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 By the looks of it, he's not a massive fan. Which is fair enough. That is a terrible 'best XI'
The Kraken Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 Very strange XI. Not just formation, but I'm wondering how he knows just how good Keegan and Paine were given that he wasn't old enough to have seen either of them play for Saints. An all time XI is really only relevant for pleyers you can remember seeing live (which is why KK never gets in my all time Saints XI, I think I can remember seeing him just the once).
Spudders Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 Reading the comments left on the sun page, it's like people aren't happy these days unless they are having a b!tch at someone.
ottery st mary Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 (edited) For me he is a Saints fan. As is the family. UNLIKE quite a few of the posters on this forum ...many who have never been to The Dell/St Marys. Good on the Lad giving the mighty Saints a write up... His Mother and Grandparents (film/TV) probably told him about some of our older stars. (Posters with some of the Saints teams of today and the greatest selection on here leaves a lot to be desired:rolleyes: ) Well done Craig David COYS Edited 18 November, 2012 by ottery st mary
The Kraken Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 His best Saints XI would get rinsed by mine. Tim Flowers Jason Dodd - Mark Wright - Michael Svensson - Mark Dennis Jimmy Case - Steve Williams Rod Wallace - Matt Le Tissier - Danny Wallace Alan Shearer
ottery st mary Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 (edited) Charles Davies Knapp Gabriel Traynor (or Hollywood) Wimshurst (or Huxford) Melia (or Burnside) Paine O'Brien Kirby ( or Ron Davies) Sydenham Edited 18 November, 2012 by ottery st mary
rpb Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 Charles Davies Knapp Gabriel Traynor Wimshurst (or Huxford) Melia Paine O'Brien Kirby ( or Ron Davies) Sydenham No Burnside?
ottery st mary Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 No Burnside? Added Burnside and Hollywood.. Not forgetting Connor, McGrath and Mulgrew.....
Secret Site Agent Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 Very strange XI. Yeh,obviously he's too much of a star to use Youtube or buy any DVD's of Saints history.
The Kraken Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 Yeh,obviously he's too much of a star to use Youtube or buy any DVD's of Saints history. Youtube and highlights DVDs; the very bastions of judging a player!!
Secret Site Agent Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 Just got a preview of that great Southampton fan and Millbrook Girl Fiona Phillips Best Sainst 11: GK: Petr Cech RB: Branislav Ivanovic CB: John Terry CB: Marcel Desailly LB: Ashley Cole RM: Roberto Di Matteo CM: Frank Lampard CM: Gus LM: Arjen ST: Gianfranco Zola ST: Didier Drogba I hate that woman with a passion.
Golden Balls Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 If a saints best 11 doesn't include Ron Davies or Channon its just wrong.
krissyboy31 Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 Charles Davies Knapp Gabriel Traynor (or Hollywood) Wimshurst (or Huxford) Melia (or Burnside) Paine O'Brien Kirby ( or Ron Davies) Sydenham I'd have yesterday's starting XI ahead of those. By the time they had picked up their hobnailed boots Punch, Lallana and Gaston would be gone!!
Cabrone Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 Shilton\Niemi (can't choose them apart) Mick or Steve Mills - Mark Wright - Michael Svensson - Mark Dennis Terry Paine - Jimmy Case - Gareth Bale MLT Alan Shearer - Ron Davies Subs: Watson (Dave - not Gordon ), Rod Wallace, Channon, Steve Williams, KK
OldNick Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 Just got a preview of that great Southampton fan and Millbrook Girl Fiona Phillips Best Sainst 11: GK: Petr Cech RB: Branislav Ivanovic CB: John Terry CB: Marcel Desailly LB: Ashley Cole RM: Roberto Di Matteo CM: Frank Lampard CM: Gus LM: Arjen ST: Gianfranco Zola ST: Didier Drogba I hate that woman with a passion.you are not alone
The Kraken Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 If a saints best 11 doesn't include Ron Davies or Channon its just wrong. Or maybe people just aren't old enough to have seen them in action over any period of time and therefore have an informed opinion about how good a player they are?
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 He's so full of ****. I heard him tell Jamie Theakston that he was a Chelsea fan.
Saint137 Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 Strange, when he was first "famous" he said he was a Chelsea fan in interviews.
The Kraken Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 Strange, when he was first "famous" he said he was a Chelsea fan in interviews. Really?? Always thought he had promoted himself as a Saints fan. He even wore a Saints shirt on stage once during a gig.
Avenue Saint Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 He's so full of ****. I heard him tell Jamie Theakston that he was a Chelsea fan. Think we'll believe him over you... Especially as I grew up with him. ***t.
krissyboy31 Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 Really?? Always thought he had promoted himself as a Saints fan. He even wore a Saints shirt on stage once during a gig. Always!
adrian lord Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 Craig David has never been shy of telling people he is a Saints fan
Glasgow_Saint Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 He is saints thru and thru! His brother also posts on here....... Miltonroader07
Avenue Saint Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 He is saints thru and thru! His brother also posts on here....... Miltonroader07 Highly doubt it. Judging by post history, maybe fudpucker and miltonroader share a relationship.... of some sort.
Secret Site Agent Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 He's so full of ****. I heard him tell Jamie Theakston that he was a Chelsea fan. Nope always been a Saint Fan. Are you sure you'll not confusing him with that paragon of vitue, worlds biggest saints fan and Millbrook girl, Fiona Phillips? She became a Chelsea Fan as soon as we were relegated. Any chance for me to throw sheet her way. I Really, REALLY, hate that woman.
Bensfcno1 Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 I remember before the 2003 cup final craig was interviewed and he said he couldn't wait to see Pahars do his stuff. Any saints fan at the time knew he was out injured!
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 Where was he when we were sh*t? Not a peep for the last 7 years then as soon as there's a chance for some publicity he's number one fan.
krissyboy31 Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 Where was he when we were sh*t? Not a peep for the last 7 years then as soon as there's a chance for some publicity he's number one fan. Think that's more to do with the media not having the slightest interest in us over the last 7 years and him for probably 5 of them TBH.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 Think that's more to do with the media not having the slightest interest in us over the last 7 years and him for probably 5 of them TBH. True, but I wonder how many games he went to in those 7 years?
The Kraken Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 True' date=' but I wonder how many games he went to in those 7 years?[/quote'] You’re based in America these days but do you ever come to visit St Mary’s any more? "I haven’t been able to get over this season but I went a couple of times last year in the Championship. I bought my mum three season tickets so she and a few friends can go to the games and I can always use them when I’m over there."
pap Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 My youngest brother is mates with Craig David's sister. That is all.
aintforever Posted 18 November, 2012 Posted 18 November, 2012 He's so full of ****. I heard him tell Jamie Theakston that he was a Chelsea fan. I remember hearing him say that on the radio, think it was during the 2006 World Cup. He was asked who he supported and said something like "being from Southampton I should support them but I'm a Chelsea fan".
