SHA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA, WHO THE F*CK IS LAUGHING NOW!

Great way to end the half...that chant above, "One Nigel Adkins" and the QPR fans with the loudest round of boos I think I've ever heard.

Punch has probably been our best player in that 1st half, deserved goal, deserved 2-0 lead. Best complete 45 from us so far this season, but as we all know - it's a game of 2 halves, long way to go yet.

We'll need to weather a storm at the start of the 2nd half for sure, but if we get to 65-70 mins still in the same position, then the gaps will start to open as they will have to go for it.

cork has been utterly immense....really busy, all over the park, winning the ball and giving it short quickly

Absoloutley, he does the simple things well. Retains the ball with a simple pass, breaks it up with a simple foot in, breaks up the play. He's not a glamorous player in terms of cross field passes, goals etc, but he's the sort of player that is needed in an attacking team such as ours.

I've not been hugley impressed with Davis, Cork has offered so much more in the few games he's had back.

I gotta admit, I admire the way he has got past his attitude problem lately. It's been a huge disability for him in the past.

True - NA has hopefully succeeded where many have failed and turned the lad around and getting the best out of him

im shocked....I was not expecting this...had a good feeling earlier after thinking we would lose all week...QPR are utterly shyte, this will be a crime if we dont beat them..

Erm, what?

I wouldn't half mind these scores at half time. Saints winning, Villa, Reading and Pompey losing.

Don't make any subs. They will want to come out and attack to get an early goal back. Just keep the ball, keep the pressure on when they have it and hit them on the counter.

And breathe..

Good first half from the lads, only a little worried about Gazza. Impressed with Shaw and Clyne today and the way the team are playing, though QPR are poor and all over the place at times. We need a early goal in the second half and then see the game out, if QPR score I am afraid we might fold and lose.

COYR and keep up the good work.

had a good feeling we could get a result earlier...after thinking we had no chance all week due to our poor defence....

Ah right, my bad. Thought you were saying you felt good about thinking we would lose all week - nevermind :)

If we can just put them on the back foot for 10 minutes the QPR fans will get on their back so much that they won't be able to get properly fired up for the rest of the game. Surely we can do this now, surely...

Gazzaniga has shaved his hair - is this historically a good or bad thing for a keeper? MLG?

Rats tail feels like it makes the point moot.

Gazza is good for me, think he is the guy who wil improve every game the others will decline either via fitness or reactions.

you called it this morning. Don't what ever you do lose the faith.

So was it a nun in the crowd or what? My stream is pants

Good half, but Morgan has nearly put us in the sh*t at least twice. We keep trying to play too many 5 yard passes in tight areas rather than turning out and spreading play, and keep getting caught. Lallana really needs to get closer to his man when we lose possession too, they've had far too much joy overlapping up their right hand side.

Plenty of positives though. Luke Shaw doesn't look the slightest bit out of place, Cork is immense, Punch is having a good game, and we actually look solid at the back.

Oh, and I've got a tenner on a Lambert brace, and a fiver on Lambert 1st Saints to win 2-1 at 55/1. I'd much prefer Lambert to put it to bed and take the £150, but QPR can have a 95th minute consolation if he doesn't.

Please don't say that. This is Saints; has a lifetime of supporting us not taught you anything?
