Dr Who? Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 Nice.....we have lift off. Lets hold on and get another 2 home wins!
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 Half time...that will do nicely Lots of booing from the home crowd:D
Thedelldays Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 what a fuking goal....puncheon you beauty 2-0
BadgerBadger Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 Cork has made a right old difference since his return - keep it tight lads and lets go for the jugular
trousers Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 Dear Nigel Adkins....don't make any subs in the second half please. Love Trousers
Colinjb Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 Nathaniel Clyne made that goal, what a player.... Puncheon..... it curled close to the keeper, but oh yes!!! What a goal.
Dig Dig Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 Hopefully QPR players want Hughes out.... Same anount of effort from them 2nd half is what we need!
Ohio Saint Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 it's been coming for puncheon - top lad I gotta admit, I admire the way he has got past his attitude problem lately. It's been a huge disability for him in the past.
Saint_clark Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 SHA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA, WHO THE F*CK IS LAUGHING NOW! Great way to end the half...that chant above, "One Nigel Adkins" and the QPR fans with the loudest round of boos I think I've ever heard.
Legod Third Coming Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 Nice goal by Punch! But shocking defending by QPR! Gave him the freedom of Loftus Road. We need to keep this tight second half and go for the jugular!
Thedelldays Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 cork has been utterly immense....really busy, all over the park, winning the ball and giving it short quickly
S-Clarke Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 Punch has probably been our best player in that 1st half, deserved goal, deserved 2-0 lead. Best complete 45 from us so far this season, but as we all know - it's a game of 2 halves, long way to go yet. We'll need to weather a storm at the start of the 2nd half for sure, but if we get to 65-70 mins still in the same position, then the gaps will start to open as they will have to go for it.
Dig Dig Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 Dear Nigel Adkins....don't make any subs in the second half please. Love Trousers He will. Every manager does!
saint cozza Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 That was a brilliant counter attacking goal, great from punch to take away the defender and top finish. Now lets keep it going
Ohio Saint Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 Dear Nigel Adkins....don't make any subs in the second half please. Love Trousers I love trousers too. I never go anywhere without them, usually.
Colinjb Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 This is dangerous, starting to believe we can do this.
S-Clarke Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 cork has been utterly immense....really busy, all over the park, winning the ball and giving it short quickly Absoloutley, he does the simple things well. Retains the ball with a simple pass, breaks it up with a simple foot in, breaks up the play. He's not a glamorous player in terms of cross field passes, goals etc, but he's the sort of player that is needed in an attacking team such as ours. I've not been hugley impressed with Davis, Cork has offered so much more in the few games he's had back.
Edmonton Saint Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 as a critic of Adkins in recent weeks, I must say that the first half performance was superb, hope we can stay on top and get a much needed win.
Chez Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 top performance right from the off. We have kept the ball well and not done anything silly.
hypochondriac Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 Please saints keep that performance up second half. Finish like this and I will be buzzing.
BadgerBadger Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 I gotta admit, I admire the way he has got past his attitude problem lately. It's been a huge disability for him in the past. True - NA has hopefully succeeded where many have failed and turned the lad around and getting the best out of him
(not THE) Kevin Moore Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 Argh I lost the stream in the build up to the second! Same again second half saints!
Wade Garrett Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 All credit to Saints, we look very comfortable.
trousers Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 He will. Every manager does! I just hope he doesn't try and shut this out with half hour to go. Just keep playing offensively for 80 mins
Thedelldays Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 im shocked....I was not expecting this...had a good feeling earlier after thinking we would lose all week...QPR are utterly shyte, this will be a crime if we dont beat them.. and flyer say all our signings are wrong...
hypochondriac Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 If we concede an early goal I will be ****ed off. Keep it tight lads.
Colinjb Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 and flyer say all our signings are wrong... Lets not rub it in just yet.
jezza Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 Got the stream working on my iPad, we are looking good from what I can make out! COYR, give us a good second half.
Saint_clark Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 im shocked....I was not expecting this...had a good feeling earlier after thinking we would lose all week...QPR are utterly shyte, this will be a crime if we dont beat them.. and flyer say all our signings are wrong... Erm, what?
Saint Without a Halo Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 About time a returning player in our side scores too!
Lighthouse Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 I wouldn't half mind these scores at half time. Saints winning, Villa, Reading and Pompey losing. Don't make any subs. They will want to come out and attack to get an early goal back. Just keep the ball, keep the pressure on when they have it and hit them on the counter.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 We shall just have to make sure we "dont get murdered down the flanks"......
Dr. Kucho Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 And breathe.. Good first half from the lads, only a little worried about Gazza. Impressed with Shaw and Clyne today and the way the team are playing, though QPR are poor and all over the place at times. We need a early goal in the second half and then see the game out, if QPR score I am afraid we might fold and lose. COYR and keep up the good work.
Jonnyboy Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 Puncheon I take it all back. (keeper couldve saved it though) If we don't win, the dog is getting a serious kicking tonight!
Thedelldays Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 Erm, what? had a good feeling we could get a result earlier...after thinking we had no chance all week due to our poor defence....
Thedelldays Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 We shall just have to make sure we "dont get murdered down the flanks"...... to be fair...they are getting joy down there..just they have 1 person at the most in the box lol
Georgie Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 Please please please keep this up in the second half!
Saint_clark Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 had a good feeling we could get a result earlier...after thinking we had no chance all week due to our poor defence.... Ah right, my bad. Thought you were saying you felt good about thinking we would lose all week - nevermind
Saint_clark Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 If we can just put them on the back foot for 10 minutes the QPR fans will get on their back so much that they won't be able to get properly fired up for the rest of the game. Surely we can do this now, surely...
Convict Colony Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 Gazzaniga has shaved his hair - is this historically a good or bad thing for a keeper? MLG? Rats tail feels like it makes the point moot. Gazza is good for me, think he is the guy who wil improve every game the others will decline either via fitness or reactions.
Chez Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 had a good feeling we could get a result earlier...after thinking we had no chance all week due to our poor defence.... you called it this morning. Don't what ever you do lose the faith. So was it a nun in the crowd or what? My stream is pants
Jack Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 Good half, but Morgan has nearly put us in the sh*t at least twice. We keep trying to play too many 5 yard passes in tight areas rather than turning out and spreading play, and keep getting caught. Lallana really needs to get closer to his man when we lose possession too, they've had far too much joy overlapping up their right hand side. Plenty of positives though. Luke Shaw doesn't look the slightest bit out of place, Cork is immense, Punch is having a good game, and we actually look solid at the back. Oh, and I've got a tenner on a Lambert brace, and a fiver on Lambert 1st Saints to win 2-1 at 55/1. I'd much prefer Lambert to put it to bed and take the £150, but QPR can have a 95th minute consolation if he doesn't.
OttawaSaint Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 Half way there. Keep it up Saints. May as well just sit on the toilet and watch the 2nd, seeing as I am bricking it now. Please Saints, please....PLEASE don't **** this away!
The Kraken Posted 17 November, 2012 Posted 17 November, 2012 If we can just put them on the back foot for 10 minutes the QPR fans will get on their back so much that they won't be able to get properly fired up for the rest of the game. Surely we can do this now, surely... Please don't say that. This is Saints; has a lifetime of supporting us not taught you anything?
