How many points do you think we should have at this stage then ?

So many on here think we are doomed already, so how many points do you think we should have by now ?

IMO we could only of won 3 games so for, Wigan, Villa and Fulham.

Like my pal who supports Sunderland said to me before the start of the season, "there's no easy games in the prem mate"

Even if we do go down I'll still support the saints, I have all my life and will regardless of league we are in, it seems to me that now we are here we should have a god given right to stay up ?

Hopefully we can get some defenders in Jan and steady the ship, if not what can we do ?

We should have beaten Swansea. A point from one of Man City and Man United was imminently possible and Fulham, well..... winnable to say the least.

For me we could so easily have been on 9 points. Still in the bottom 3 on goal difference but level with Villa and Sunderland.

When we were relegated (2004/05 season) we had 7 points at this stage and were 18th having just drawn 2- 2 away to Arsenal.

so it seems unlikely we will stay up on five points at the same stage? Today's game is massive whoever loses it will shatter their confidence beyond repair IMO

Norwich beat Man U yesterday.

If we are staying up we can't just write off huge numbers of games. We are going to have to beat some big teams at some point otherwise we will be down.

why could we have only won 3 games...?

spurs were not impressive when they played us

we were 5 mins away from beating man united

west ham went away to win at newcastle...a game what you would have written off

we are going to have to beat a top 6 team to stay up.....as well as others we should win...we always did and every team that stays up always does

I agree but we have only had Man U at home. I think our team is getting better for every week and eventually we´ll get a win against a top 6 team too.

In a way I think the beatings has been good for us since I think you could fool yourself if you just lose 1-0 or 2-1. Now we have really focused on the defence the last couple of weeks but still remain with the ability to go forward and playing the ball.

Not a top 6 team ;) (or maybe they were when we met them...?)

Yeah I agree on that one but no Cork and Ramirez in that one. Our squad is a decent PL squad but if we dont have our best players fit we will get hurt.

we will get hurt no matter what....until we have a keeper semi reliable, we are in trouble...he cost us a win last week and could have been very different had we played anyone else other than the worst team in the league..

we looked great going forward though

I have said all the time that I would play Boruc every day of the week but will be hard to switch Gazza as long as we dont loose I guess even though he cost us two points against Swansea....

I really hope Boruc is getting fitter during practice cause that´s our only GK I can see steal a win or two. I dont think Gazza has that ability really...

The games where you generally pick up the most points is against the lesser teams at home so the Wigan, Swansea and Fulham games could cost us.

You don't write off any game but there are games you target as the ones you need to win. Drop too many points against the likes of Fulham at home and you find yourself at the end of the season having to beat teams like Man U to reach your points target.
