Saint_clark Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 I see you've added a bit. Yes, straight after posting it.
anothersaintinsouthsea Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 wow, ten minutes of my life I'll never get back.
Judge_B Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 I can neither confirm nor deny that I have, or have not, read the link posted at the start of this thread. I have read this thread, however I did not inhale. Think that covers it
Julian H. Cope Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 I always preferred Dennis Rofe in his shorts at half time.
Frank's cousin Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 I dont really understand why the OP has added MLT's name to the thread's title. Mischief making perhaps ? MLT is not a promoter of theatre events ffs.....you might as well add Stelling, Merson etc etc And I do fail everytime this comes up to understand the stick Mike Osman gets on this forum from some people. He is a Saints fan who has done a hell of a lot for charity over the years. Which one of those two facts is the crime then ? Think 100% of fans would applaud MO for his charitable work - hats off to him, nice to see. 100% of fans would probabally enjoy a pint and chin wag with him as he is obviously a passionate saints fan The stick he got from some (me included) was that during the grim old days, he like all fans sided with one side and because he has a public platform, his voice was heard louder than most on his stance etc. Great if you agreed with his POV, but bound to attract criticism if you did not, which I am sure he would say is fair enough. A small minority had an issue withn the rumoured pay he got for the half time entertainment - I had no issue with this as if true, it was a fair going rate, but we were quite skint at the time so maybe that did not help. Another group gave hiom stick because they did not think he was funny... which is a matter of individual taste and opinion, and again, I doubt he expects everyone to like his comedy. You respect opinion. So no big deal really.
jdsaint Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 Would have thought that any legal action in the first instance would be a strongly worded letter to the forum admin asking for them to remove the content (and pay costs) or to ask for details surrounding any user causing an issue or be held liable for the content. Anyway I've never been keen on The Osmans since Danny left although I still love Crazy Horses ;-)
Big John Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 THis is cracking me up' date=' cant follow a thing, Mike's probably getting loads of [b']new material [/b]with this wonderful thread... Jeez.... NO one knows why it was cancelled and it looks like its between Mike and Sky - but either way not sure its really any of our business.... Mike doesn't need new material, as long as there are people who get pleasure from seeing a man with his hand up a horses head pretending it is s talking horse named Desert Orchid then he will sell tickets* to his shows. *Sky Sports permitting of course.

You respect opinion. So no big deal really. I think you may be doing him a disservice Frank. For some time before Pinnacle dropped out he was saying there was a 'blue chip' Swiss bidder who did have the money although he either didn't know who it was or he wasn't going to break a confidence. He felt then the wrong bidder was being given preference. He gives an enormous amount of his time to helping fund raising events and is terrific entertainment especially with draws, auctions etc.
Wurzel Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 I always preferred Dennis Rofe in his shorts at half time. as opposed to out of them????

Jimmy Saville did a lot of charity work. Disclaimer Im not suggesting there any similarities between the two other than they are both really annoying and neither are funny.
manji Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 Youd have thought Matty would have learnt his lesson after the alleged Celebration Plaza fiasco.
Toomer Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 Mike Osmans brothers sound like a right pair of pr:cks. Hello Boys. Being a close friend of Mike and his brothers I will pass on your compliments.

Anyway I've never been keen on The Osmans since Danny left although I still love Crazy Horses ;-) Whats he do with hecklers (of which Im sure there are many) ? Have a hissy fit and walk off stage ? Employ a mobile lawyer ? Or does he use his vast array of brothers to slap em around a bit.
manji Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 Being a close friend of Mike and his brothers I will pass on your compliments. OOOOhh thats sounds a bit threatening. Not for the first time so I am told.
the stain Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 Someone who raises a lot more for charity then you probably do HTH like jimmy savile? Very thin ice my son. Eh? Fitzhugh Fella said Osman raises lots of money and I pointed out that Savile raised lots of money. What's the issue there? There's a lot of people getting very upset about nothing here.
Turkish Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 Eh? Fitzhugh Fella said Osman raises lots of money and I pointed out that Savile raised lots of money. What's the issue there? There's a lot of people getting very upset about nothing here. Our forum superstar continues he's premier league posting levels with that little gem. Massive tsk.
the stain Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 Our forum superstar continues he's premier league posting levels with that little gem. Massive tsk. Hi Turkish. It's very sweet of you to follow me around and call me a superstar, but I'm a long way off your standards. One day I also hope to have over 14000 quality posts on a forum like this.

Turkish Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 Hi Turkish. It's very sweet of you to follow me around and call me a superstar, but I'm a long way off your standards. One day I also hope to have over 14000 quality posts on a forum like this. You're doing well and progressing quickly. Your recent contributions to this forum have been side splitting and infomative in equal measures. keep it up.
the stain Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 You're doing well and progressing quickly. Your recent contributions to this forum have been side splitting and infomative in equal measures. keep it up. Thanks, that means a lot coming from you. I see you as the big boss of saints web, you're a legend on the internet.
Turkish Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 Thanks, that means a lot coming from you. I see you as the big boss of saints web, you're a legend on the internet. I consider myself the forum underworld. Me and my Krew are running this turf under the noses of mods. My Krew is stronger than ever, despite Dune being lifed off for a third strike ban. We are everywhere, do not f*ck with us.
Wade Garrett Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 I thought Mike Osman was ok when he did the half-times. The Alan Ball chant he started (I think we were playing Southend), after he died, was the closest I came to crying at a game. Mind you, he wasn't a patch on the Albion Band, can't we get them back?
Saint Without a Halo Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 I always preferred Dennis Rofe in his shorts at half time. As opposed to out of them?
Saint Charlie Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 IMO there are some dark forces at play on this thread...
theyin Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-20299551#TWEET357641 This may be of interest to those who need a clear handle regarding libel.
Turkish Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 IS anyone really that sad that they would sue someone for saying a few nasty things about them on an internet mongboard?
Turkish Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 IMO there are some dark forces at play on this thread... I'm a dark force. As i said above, i am part of the forum underworld.
capitalsaint Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 I'm a dark force. As i said above, i am part of the forum underworld. With your post count there isn't much underworld about it. It's pretty obvious.
egg Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/article-2232560/Soccer-Saturday-tour-scrapped--Charlie-Sale.html Looks like they have been using Sky's 'Soccer Saturday' brand without permission..... I wonder if this will affect MLT's position as a pundit with them. They can't be too happy. It appears it's another fine mess that Osman has dragged MLT into..... I thought I would comment before yet another thread gets ruined by attention seekers. On subject. To be fair, none of the points in this post actually stem from the article. The first and third paragraphs are the op's own words and opinions. The latter is a bit naughty. Derry's reaction was a bit ott but Osman could rightly be unhappy by the suggestion that he has dragged mlt into a mess now and previously
shirleysfc Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 IS anyone really that sad that they would sue someone for saying a few nasty things about them on an internet mongboard? This is serious ****in business... Careful, you're on thin ice!! *smiley face thingy*
BadgerBadger Posted 15 November, 2012 Posted 15 November, 2012 cyber wow - think it's time for a cinnamon challenge
Saint in Paradise Posted 15 November, 2012 Posted 15 November, 2012 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-20299551#TWEET357641 This may be of interest to those who need a clear handle regarding libel. I found this message at the end a bit amusing though "This article reflects the personal opinion of Mr Shan and Ms Caddy, and does not represent the views of the BBC." .
Roger Posted 15 November, 2012 Posted 15 November, 2012 I just looked at his wikipedia page. If it's legally allowable, this made me chuckle: You really are a tool.
Roger Posted 15 November, 2012 Posted 15 November, 2012 Im not sure doing charity has the same cache these days. Jimmy Saville did a lot of charity work. Disclaimer Im not suggesting there any similarities between the two other than they are both really annoying and neither are funny. Again I repeat you aren't a saints fan.
hutch Posted 15 November, 2012 Posted 15 November, 2012 I always preferred Dennis Rofe in his shorts at half time. Why was Dennis wearing Osman's shorts at half time?
KK the 2nd Posted 15 November, 2012 Posted 15 November, 2012 I think a running a defence/plea of collective insanity should get us of. Plenty of evidence to back this up.
Turkish Posted 15 November, 2012 Posted 15 November, 2012 With your post count there isn't much underworld about it. It's pretty obvious. That's where your wrong. Mongboard underworld, is a dangerous place, you dont know what you're dealing with. I've got a infraction list as long as your arm and 2 bans so pipedown or you'll be dealt with my me and my Krew.
Turkish Posted 15 November, 2012 Posted 15 November, 2012 This is serious ****in business... Careful, you're on thin ice!! *smiley face thingy* It really is quite "odd" how seriously people take these things.
Toomer Posted 15 November, 2012 Posted 15 November, 2012 (edited) Threats again look. If you think that my two posts are threats you are very wrong just pointing out that I will pass peoples thoughts and comments onto Mike one of which could be taken the wrong way. Please also tell me when I have ever made a threat to another user I am sure Steve Grant would like to be informed so that he can take what ever actions he and the mods feel fit. Edited 15 November, 2012 by Toomer
Julian H. Cope Posted 15 November, 2012 Posted 15 November, 2012 I always preferred Dennis Rofe not wearing Mike Osman's shorts, giving me a reach around whilst I could hear the strains of Colonel Bogey by the Albion Band, at half time.
shirleysfc Posted 15 November, 2012 Posted 15 November, 2012 It really is quite "odd" how seriously people take these things. It really is amusing when people start talking about legal action. As for those people missing obvious jokes and talking about "reporting it back", I'm sure much worse has been said by comedians in routines!!
rooney Posted 15 November, 2012 Posted 15 November, 2012 Mind you, he wasn't a patch on the Albion Band, can't we get them back? And the big flag that was carried around the pitch at the Dell by stewards, that we used to throw our pennies in.
OldNick Posted 15 November, 2012 Posted 15 November, 2012 someones after a free signed photo. lol, no I already have a signed programme that an Arsenal mate gave me after a charity gig MO was doing. It was in London and MO was bigging Saints up and so my mate got me a signed programme. It hasn't changed my life, at the time i was on the other side of the fence to MO as i was classed as a 'LoweLuvvie' (remember those days lol) it didnt effect my thoughts about MO as I knew we both had a passion for our football club. It must hurt for someone like him to be disliked for no apparent reason.
OldNick Posted 15 November, 2012 Posted 15 November, 2012 Yeh I blocked you Nick, couldn't stand the gloating ;-) After 3 years I THOUGHT you would've forgotten the kicking we got.Funny that as there must have been 100 players in your team as im sure ive been blocked by loads of posters lol. It was a good night and a great bunch of lads
