Oslo

Well, you can fly into the main airport at Gardemoen with SAS (Heathrow) or Norwegian (Gatwick) with Norwegian being cheaper usually. Then get the bus or train into the city. There are two trains, one super fast and one normal, with a fair price difference.

You can also fly from Stansted to "Oslo Torp" with Ryanair, but they are really stretching the definition of Oslo with that. It's really in a town called Sandefjord, which you can check on Google maps. It's quite a journey from the city.

Oslo is a VERY expensive city to go out in. I lived there for four years and never really went clubbing, it was expensive enough to drink in the pubs all night. In the city centre I'd guess you're looking at about 6 or 7 quid a pint, whatever you do, don't offer to buy a round, most Norwegians don't. They also quite often have a "vorspiel" where they go and drink at someone's home before they go out, cheaper. so see if that's happening. City centre hotels are also expensive, so try to find out if she knows anyone who can let you stay over.

"Funds are tight" isn't a very promising phrase when discussing going out drinking over here.
