1..That Cortese choses to sit on his own, with empty seats each side and behind him?

2.. Why was he the only chairman in the PL, and probably the whol league this weekend who chose not to wear a poppy?

He is certainly eccentric:scared:

I think he sits on his own as everyone hates him and he hates everyone.

I think he didn't wear a poppy as he thinks it's good that all those soldiers died and he wishes more of them dead.

lol at all the luvvies pretending they don't care:lol:

Laughs at Patred for believing that anybody should care about something so petty, especially as he doesn't even speculate himself about any explanations, but expects others to.

I can tell you why the seats either side of him are empty, this comes from a VERY reliable contact in the club. I wouldn't normally divulge such information to the wider public but I don't want this situation to develop into something bigger than it actually is. My contact is very close but they depend on the football club for the security of their family, I am privy to many of the goings on inside the camp but choose not to publish as I respect my contacts position. This occasion merits a change in tact as I believe I am not putting them at risk as the reason for the empty seats is actually very understandable when you know why. The seats either side of him are for his wife and his son, they couldn't make the game on Saturday so lent their swipe cards to a couple of acquaintances, Nicola made sure that the steward on the gate stopped this errant behaviour of the family and Nicola has confiscated the cards of his wife and son.

And the explanation for the apparent absence of the poppy is also equally easy to explain. He has one of those big ones on the front grille of his car.

1. Who cares.

2. Do you have photographic evidence to show all the other PL chairmen not wearing poppies?

You are factually wrong OP, Mr Cortese always has people next to him on his LH side whils to his RH side is a gangway!!!

Poppies signify the British & Allied Armies blood spilled on the fields of Flanders in Belgium notably at the first battle of Ypres in 1915.

Our Italian allies of the First World War were engaged in an equally bloody struggle against the Austrians in the foothills of the Alps in North Eastern Italy.

Whilst we share and remember our common agony on 11th November at 11.00 am, the poppy has no symbolic significance to an Italian even one domiciled in the UK. I have no doubt he would have had his own solemn reflections during the two minutes silence at the match.

You like others are far too keen to take a swipe at Mr Cortese for whatever narrow and bigoted reason is in your own mind. It would be far wiser for you to keep such thoughts to yourself and above all think before you write.

Pat, it seems like no-one can properly answer your fantastically challenging and thought-provoking questions.

Perhaps you could enlighten us why YOU think these issues are the case? (Or just copy the answers over from TUI, of course).

Superb if true! There is a 3 page comedy gold mong board thread about it on The Ugly Inside message board!

Classic. You got to love those guy's.

Imagine if we had one of Pompey's owners/chairman ala Gun traders or bank fraudsters. They would top themselves probably...

I heard he had a huge poppy tattooed on his back Saturday morning so he wanted a buffer zone around him as he was a bit tender, he has the petals tattoed in red a white strips, so expect a return to strips next season and he had the black centre of the poppy tattooed with an acid house smily face, nice.

In reality Nicola is seated with Markus Liebherr and listens to what the master whispers down from above into his ear. By seating alone he is able to form his own opinions and not let himself be influenced by those with an agenda. The TV at the end of the match showed Reed moving onto his left side and muttering away to him and his expressionless face.

As for the Poppy did anyone see him without his trench coat? A Poppy can be worn on a jacket or a jumper and if he was feeling kinky perhaps on his YFronts, Speedos or Boxers.

The seat to his left has a plaque on it which says 'In memory of Markus Liebherr' which is a nice touch I think.

Maybe he doesn't want anyone sitting there as a sort of tribute to the big man.
