if want to make an offer, could look at asking her to pull it from ebay to save fees etc (think need to pull by 11???

Very fast but no FM radio is a tad annoying,,, will i be able to download one in the future tech heads?

Good question Jeff Le Taxi. A bit of a Google and the answer appears to be a qualified maybe.

The phone 'appears' to have the FM hardware inside, but is looks like it has been disabled.

This is likely because Google wants you to use the 'cloud' for your services - witness no SD card so you are forced to store more stuff on-line. So they don't really want you getting your radio fix for free over the airwaves.

I think your best bet might be to listen to an on-line stream of the radio station. But for that to work you'd need a good data contract (unlimited hopefully), be in a good 3G signal area, and listen to a station that streams live via the Internet.

I can wholeheartedly recommend the TuneIn Radio app for this. It's excellent.

Even IF the bits for an FM radio are inside the phone and the kernel geeks can build a specific kernel with the ability to talk to the FM hardware, then you'll need to running a bleeding edge custom ROM. This isn't for the faint of heart and probably invalidates your Google warranty.

It might actually be academic anyway as the last couple of posts here suggest that it is a non-starter because Google has sabotaged the FM radio chip.

On a separate note, what do you think of the build quality?

Build quality is excellent Bletch ...no creaks or wobbles here and after using it without a case or screen protector for a few weeks still scratch free..fingers crossed.

BUT and its a big but the back is VERY slippy, in a highly polished way, although round the sides there is a kind of rubberised bumper built in.
