Nigel=God-Poyet=Sod Posted 5 December, 2012 Share Posted 5 December, 2012 His wages would be massive... First team Premier League football with a slight wage cut, or a place on the bench in the Ukrainian league? I know money talks but surely this guy would come given the chance. It's just me throwing a name out there anyway.

stevy777_x Posted 7 December, 2012 Share Posted 7 December, 2012 Michael Landreau, french goalkeeper from Lille, has mutually agreed with his club to terminate his contract. This guy is a class act, we should make our move straight away. Could be the ideal short term answer while Gazza matures. He has mutually agreed to terminate his contract because he did not get on with their manager anymore. And before you question this, he is not a troublemaker and hasn't got a bad attitude. Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 7 December, 2012 Author Share Posted 7 December, 2012 I'll throw this name out there: Dmytro Chygrynskiy. Who? Centre back playing in his second spell for Shakhtar who doesn't make their first team but was bought by Barcelona from Shakhtar a couple of years ago before being sold back. Think it was a pretty healthy sum, possibly around £20M, but has gone off the radar a bit. 26 years old, could be a good little signing for us. Blimey, can't really see this one. Great player. Raskitskiy (sp) possibly as well if we're looking over that way.
The Kraken Posted 7 December, 2012 Share Posted 7 December, 2012 One off the radar; Tal Ben Haim is training with QPR ahead of a potential move. Oh Harry Good news for us though.

Smirking_Saint Posted 9 December, 2012 Share Posted 9 December, 2012 Olsson would be a good signing but in all honesty it coukd block Shaws progression by pushing him back, Fox isnt an absolute terrible replacement in that respect, plus if we are trying to bat away interest for the lad come jan buying a replacement is hardly going to fill him with confidence. I like the look of Will Hughes at city, wont be cheap but the boy looks mustard, only seen him in highlights on FLS but he is quick, great feet, tremendous workrate and sees a pass. Reminds me a lot of Lallana. He would be a beastly signing IMO We still could do with a CB and keeper, Curtis Davies ? Dawson ? Not an easy market for decent CB tbh Keeper, Friedel, Cudicini if he still has it, dont think Given is the answer IMO

Looks good though, and as I said for his obvious talents he doesnt look like he is scared to put a shift in. For 5-10 mil, maybe worth a look surely, looks like he could play either wide position. Think it was a pretty healthy sum, possibly around £20M, but has gone off the radar a bit. 26 years old, could be a good little signing for us. It was a bit like when we brought Kevin Davies back from Blackburn. Shakhtar sold him for 25m euro and bought him back for 15m a year later. Tidy little profit. Blimey, can't really see this one. Great player. Raskitskiy (sp) possibly as well if we're looking over that way. Rakitskiy is pretty regular for them and they're in the knockout stages of the CL (on merit) after January. Would be absolutely astonished if we managed to pull one like that off.

SaintWill71 Posted 10 December, 2012 Share Posted 10 December, 2012 Not good enough? You've made that conclusion purely on the fact that at 22 he has only made 8 appearances for WBA which is completely unfair. Yes it's a little disappointing but hardly a massive shock with the other options they have and have been solid and secure with. He has a lot of potential, young, fits nicely with our transfer policy, I don't believe they'd want to sell him though tbh
MerceSaint28 Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 I think a real quality centre half is a must...someone mentioned Kjaer and he would be excellent...Mbiwa or Bocaly from Montpelier would be fantastic as well...domestically i think Curtis Davies would be our best option. Olsson of Blackburn would be a real quality addition also...he would push Shaw and can play left midfield. Finally i think a winger would be a welcome addition and we need look no further than Blackpool...as either Ince or Phillips would be great additions
Saint Charlie Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 Martin Petrov would be a good replacement for Lallana. Gary Alexander from Crawley would be a good backup for Rickie at a nominal fee, must be decent as he kept Jonno Quick out of the team at the Broadfield Stadium. Itchen_block4 Posted 11 December, 2012 Share Posted 11 December, 2012 before any wide players...we really need a good CB.... We could do with both and it's possble to get both. Saying "we're going to let the winger we really want sign for someone else because we also need a CB" is very stupid. Signings generally, but especially January ones don't hang around while a club does it's other business. Imagine you are a player with 6 months left on your contract. You have interest from Fulham, Sunderland and Villa. Villa tell you that they won't open talks until they sign a CB and a LB, are you still interested? Are you fvvck! Pilchards Posted 12 December, 2012 Share Posted 12 December, 2012 I expect we will be back in for the Blackpool winger Phillips as Puncheon & him could be used on the other flank. Pretty sure a demanding CB to partner Fonte which leaves us with a defensive holding midfielder as Cork has shown its an important role for the team. Yoshida can cover the left back role as Shaw is doing do well. Thats it for me unless we offload Sharp (know why he left us now) Jonno, Jos & Hammond, would give us a loan option with the wages freed up. *Sharp signed for us when he split up with his wife, as they got back together in the summer she refused to move south. skintsaint Posted 12 December, 2012 Share Posted 12 December, 2012 Would love us to go for a quality keeper who would move to us like Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, already capped by Germany and would move here from Munchengladtobeback. Gil from Valenciennes perhaps, didn't play last night(injured) so you wouldn't have seen him. He's a Brazilian so I don't know where we'd stand on work permit issues there, in fact I do wonder if it wasn't he that we were supposed to be watching last night because Sanchez is just a League 1 donkey. Other than that Paul Baysse from Brest, a young man I know well enough because he was at St E for a while. Friend of Morgan's I believe. Big, good in the air and quick on the ground.
