Rather sign noone that sign short term players like WHU. Looks like they're signing Stephen Warnock and Pogatetz! Both awful footballers.

The Brighton player? I think we should be aiming hirer myself, no better than we already have.

OS quotes from Pochettino are as follows:

However, Pochettino says the sidelined players won’t affect his strategy during the closing stages of the transfer window, with the deadline rapidly approaching on Thursday of this week.

“We haven’t made any requests for any new players, but we’re watching the market to see if there are any developments,” he stated.

“Overall we’re very happy with the squad and we have players here capable of competing at this level in the Premier League.

“We’ve very happy, and if we make a signing it won’t be for the sake of a signing it will be to improve what we have already. We don’t think that we need new players unless we think they will improve us.”

so, clearly not saying there will be no new players....LOL

much like an adkins kind of response in not saying either way and praising who is here

Seems so. We are at the stage where to sign a player to improve the side does cost a fair bit, so no point getting someone unless they do improve you.

So actually what MP is saying is not 'we won't sign anybody else', it's more we are in the market for players who will improve us and will not just buy players for the sake of it (like West Ham perhaps).

Exactly, that response was more adkins than adkins.

Again, Rodriguez has looked good in recent games, he hasn't racked up a huge amount of goals because he rarely plays upfront with Lambert doing so well. He is fine as cover and long term replacement for Lambert.

I disagree. I feel that JR is solely showing promise, no more no less. If Lambert got injured for the rest of the season we would be in big trouble IMO. While JR closes down a lot he gives the ball away more often than he retains it, although Lambert is far less mobile he at least retains possession or creates an opportunity.

Pity Lowe didn't have that philosophy back in 2003.

I think you have just quoted me for no reason, what I said has nothing to do with what you just said.

And I think you're implying that the subs bench is strong enough? With Ridder, Prowse, KD, guly & Richardson hardly game changers.

Of course my apologise if you do think its strong enough.. However IMO and 90% of people that attend St Mary's would disagree with that statement.

No i didn't say that and no i don't

Was only asking why he thought there would be no more activity, not for his second statement which i agree with.

Glad that was cleared up. ;)

What "keeper crisis"? What is wrong with Artur Boruc? He has been very good now that he has been given a run in the team.

Given is very much on the decline, there is good reason why he is 2nd choice in a poor Aston Villa side.

What exactly was his position at Burnley ??...... I don't think it was No9 (CF)

He moved to Russia on nearly 100k a week too.

QPR are crazy. He is a decent CB but not outstanding.

From SSN

Reading manager Brian McDermott has confirmed the club have made a bid for Blackpool winger Tom Ince. McDermott is hoping the lure of first-team football will be enough to persuade Ince, who has been linked with a return to Liverpool, to move to the Madejski Stadium.

Good move for both parties IMO. Decent player but wouldn't have been a regular at Liverpool.

Agreed. Shame we don't seem to be interested though.

Agree would like us to bid for him as well.

Risky move for him though to Reading, he might be better off moving to the premier league at the end of the season as he could be back down in the Championship with Reading in a few months.

BBC Shropshire report: "AFC Telford have signed forward Richard Peniket from Premier League Fulham on a one-month loan deal."

Missed a trick there IMO.

QPR announce that South Korea international Yun Suk-Young has signed a three-and-a-half year deal at Loftus Road.

One for the bench...

Least their 3rd keeper won't have to take that spot now hey..

I'd test Birmingham with a bid for Butland and Redmond. £5m for both and let Butland stay and play for rest of the season.

I'd also try and get Ince. We need a little more cover and decent options from the bench.

Sky Sports sources understand that Stoke and QPR are in talks over the possible transfer of Peter Crouch.

QPR are probably going to spend close to 30m in two days. Huge gamble as nearly all the players linked would be on huge wages with little resale value.
