Matthew Le God Posted 22 January, 2013 Share Posted 22 January, 2013 Would be extremely harsh on Cork if he's dropped and we bring in Biglia.....What has Biglia done to prove he is so much better ? Cork has proved he makes a huge difference and him and Morgan have been playing alongside each other for 2 years now. tbf to Biglia, he is an Argentinean international, captain of Anderlecht and playing in the Champions League. I'm happy with Cork and Schneiderlin, but if we bring in players like Biglia, I won't complain at the extra competition in the squad.
Saint Garrett Posted 22 January, 2013 Share Posted 22 January, 2013 Apart from the friendly vs them, who has actually seen him play - especially competitively? I've not but Cork and Morgan are integrual to how we play.
pingwing Posted 22 January, 2013 Share Posted 22 January, 2013 I can see why he was brought on at that time last night though. Has pace, can run at tired defenders. I'm not sure that's Lee's game. But no one is ever scared or intimidated by someone running at them when it is clear he can't even run with the ball...

I've not but Cork and Morgan are integrual to how we play. I have seen him play for Anderlecht this season. Couldn't pretend to be overwhelmed but as I was just there as a casual spectator I didn't really take much notice of individuals. We'll have to see what he's like at a far higher level where consistency over 95 minutes is required. Have to watch the "migraines" though. Saint Garrett Posted 22 January, 2013 Share Posted 22 January, 2013 West Ham manager Sam Allardyce says he is finding it tricky to bring in the defensive reinforcements he needs. "We've been trying in the whole of the window to try and bring in a defender, but not been able to clinch a deal yet," he said. "That is probably because we have been looking for a short-term deal in loans, as in terms of not permanent deals." What a very very odd thing to look for. Why are they looking at just loans ? I don't understand their short term planning?!

Window Cleaner Posted 22 January, 2013 Share Posted 22 January, 2013 What a very very odd thing to look for. Why are they looking at just loans ? I don't understand their short term planning?! well according to Alou Diarra their recruitment doesn't make much sense anyway. They buy players, sell the club to them on the ambitions of the club and then....don't play them. West Ham have too many players already and few will go there to be cast aside without being given a chance. So it's not unsurprising that few want to commit long term to them, test and try before you buy sort of thing.

Was crap vs us at Upton Park. But clearly a good player to have and integral to WHU. Rumours have it Arsenal are interested but he is on big money at WHU - around £60k/week I heard. Could see QPR going in for him if they fail with M'Vila

Chez Posted 22 January, 2013 Share Posted 22 January, 2013 Rather have Lee playing than SDR, far more class on the ball. For starters Lee is not a left or right midfielder. As for having far more class on the ball, when dod he show that then? Just an ever so slightly better Lee Barnard in my book. Proved absolutely nothing in a Saints shirt IMO. positivepete Posted 24 January, 2013 Share Posted 24 January, 2013 It's a joke by kebe. He is not going there Kebe got into a bit of trouble just before Christmas for slagging off the new owner in the local press. Kebe was complaining about the lack of cash being spent on transfers in the summer, and the indication, at the time, that no money would be spent in January. The two serious links seem to be for players that aren't coming. Mayuka might feel like a new signing when he returns from the Jan window should MP find a way to utilise him perhaps more often off the bench. Professor Posted 24 January, 2013 Share Posted 24 January, 2013 Can't be too complacent with Newcastle and QPR both strengthening. Confident that Forren will be a valuable addition to play ahead of Fonte/Hooiveld and that MP will have decided if a midfield addition is needed, but personally I'd like to see some more quality ahead of JWP / Davis. SNSUN Posted 25 January, 2013 Share Posted 25 January, 2013 Newcastle really are strengthening well, even if there is a distinctive French theme there, but as we've seen from QPR, good players don't always gel together. That said I do think Newcastle will pull clear now. I see Loic Remy's gone and pulled a hammy. Poor QPR, not a lot is going their way. > I thought Reading would spunk a bit of cash in this window but they haven't yet - a couple of lucky come-from-behind wins doesn't a good team make. I do hope we add one or two more to the team. A flair player with a knack of changing a game would be nice - I don't know anything really of Coutinho, but someone with creativity a la Lallana. (In addition to Lallana, not in place of.) It's all gone rather quiet since the lads went to Spain.
